Thank you... T-ru
Find your memrestrict number from here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147 Bigger number=better quality but low fps Low number= poor quality and good fps use medium textures Use some patch 1.0.7.0(IV)and 1.0.2.0 for eflc or some another patch ( 1.0.3.0 and 1.0.4.0 are the best)
MrNoHelp
If you are experiencing frame speed fluctuations, please update to the latest video drivers, then use the -memrestrict commandline. Please do not use any other commandlines as they may override the effects of this one. Start at the lowest number based on your texture setting (ie. try them one at a time) You can try to increase the number until you notice stuttering again. -memrestrict 188743680 LOW TEXTURES (256M Video Cards) -memrestrict 209715200 -memrestrict 230686720 -memrestrict 262144000 MED TEXTURES (512M Video Cards) -memrestrict 293601280 -memrestrict 314572800 -memrestrict 629145600 HIGH TEXTURES (1Gig+ Video Cards) -memrestrict 650117120 -memrestrict 681574400 Ok, and how I can apply the memstrict? I just seen series of number, but dunno how to apply them, the game wont leave me alone if I dont update the game to the latest patch. So I have patch 1.0.7.0 Here are my settings directly from the game: In-Game Settings Sometimes it works fine but I get a stuttering from time to time...Yesterday was horrible and somehow it disappeared now. Maybe I played GTA IV for too long? Does that increase the amount of stuttering?
T-ru
Just put memrestrict code in commandline.txt and save it in main directory of the game, taht's all. You must use medium textures, also you can use higher number with medium textures like 404572800 and if you don't get stuttering after 30 or 60 min. gameplay so everything is fine but if you get, lower the number like 384572800 or 364572800. After this go here: name of the рс/appData/local/Rockstar Games/GTA IV/Settings- and delete the files (about this you must seen hidden files google it) Then in game make your graphic settings, display and audio
MrNoHelp
Ok man, I am going to try it and see if the game will no longer do such problems. Just a curiousity regarding the technical side, there is a memory leak and thus the game acts in a weird way and the memstrick prevents that leak. Am I right? mkey82
Something like that, the command probably limits the memory usage and forces the game to free up some RAM instead of flooding it.
T-ru
Yes you're right the important thing is to delete settings of the game from here:name of the рс/appData/local/Rockstar Games/GTA IV/Settings because the game maybe not exept the commandline file
