Finn 7 five 11
Hi guys, i am a fan of command and conquer, and always have been, but i really liked the older versions of the game (early 2000's and 90's), before EA games took over, i was wondering if there are any fans of the game, and if they still sell these oldies for pc. pizza guy
I saw a copy of Red Alert in my local gamestation, still in its jewel case for 50p. Nearly bought it for nostalgia's sake. Still might! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464063-command-and-conquer/#findComment-1060223091 Share on other sites
nixxio
Yeah, you can also get cnc: the first decade which contains Command & Conquer–August 1995Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations–April 1996 Command & Conquer: Red Alert–October 1996 Command & Conquer: Red Alert–Counterstrike–March 1997 Command & Conquer: Red Alert–The Aftermath–September 1997 Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun–August 1999 Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun–Firestorm–February 2000 Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2–October 2000 Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2–Yuri's Revenge–October 2001 Command & Conquer: Renegade–February 2002 Command & Conquer: Generals–February 2003 Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour–September 2003 I've never tried the cnc games older than ra2 so I might give Tiberian Sun a shot, since its free after all. The ones older than Tiberian sun, well I might be too late for that. darthYENIK
Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun are actually freeware here. Really?! I played Red Alert forever. My uncle worked on it, and I got a free copy, but lost it nearly a decade ago. GTA3Freak-2001
Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun are actually freeware here. When they say Freeware they don't mean its like shareware do they as in a glorified demo? I've got all the originals but would love a digital copy as the quality of my discs are quite unknown to me off the top of my head. Tiberium Sun is probably my favourite game too! CharmingCharlie
When they say Freeware they don't mean its like shareware do they as in a glorified demo? Nope not shareware, completely freeware as in the entire game for free. The only problem you might have is getting some of the older versions running on modern win 7 operating systems. But they are the full game and not demo's or anything. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464063-command-and-conquer/#findComment-1060224252 Share on other sites
GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah I've been through that with my originals, sometimes its easier just to have a spare partition with XP on it really. Reconite
Easy explanation: Shareware = Free demo Freeware = Full, free game Abandonware = Morally ambiguious, full game, the publisher/developer has abandoned the title completely so people think it's ok to download Warez = Piracy Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464063-command-and-conquer/#findComment-1060224287 Share on other sites
GTA3Freak-2001
Ah yes that's right, was getting freeware confused with shareware. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464063-command-and-conquer/#findComment-1060224359 Share on other sites
Finn 7 five 11
I might buy red alert retaliation for ps1 from ebay (should work on ps2). But i dunno if the old games will work on my vista PC, and i just threw out my old xp computer (dangit) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464063-command-and-conquer/#findComment-1060224541 Share on other sites
darthYENIK
Man, it may be freeware, but it seems like a pain in the ass to download and install. Fileshack seems to be limiting my download speed to about 150 kB/s. Finn 7 five 11
Eh, im gonna download it anyway, im getting 350kb a second, its taking ages but i am just on here in the mean time. Hmm i downloaded it as a RaR file and it said 500mb all up, after downloading my net usage says i have downloaded 1.4gb (never mind my usage thing is playing up, it now says i have downloaded 6gb in the last 5 mins ) By the way in the download there is a trailer for RA3 and a bunch of gemma atkinson wallpapers.
