Slingaa
I have a pretty crappy PC and I'm really into strategy games. Hit me up with some old strategy games, here are my specs. Processor: Intel Celeron CPU @ 2.20GHz RAM: 2.00GB OS: Windows 7 64bit Video Card: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Also, if I find a game that meets my requirements, apart from the video card, would I still be able to play it on a lower graphics scale? Finn 7 five 11
Have you played command and conquer? i personally loved command and conquer on ps1 (red alert i think) it was my favourite game, the graphics were a little dodgy but it was still and awesome game. if you got an older version from somewhere your computers standards would be fine, since it worked on ps1. WedgeAntilles
Close Combat, they're all awesome but I used to love the first one 'a bridge to far' and you should easily be able to play most of them. Rome Total War, this was great. Don't know what the system recs are though but it came out years ago
baptiste
Rome: total War is a good one. Theres also Stronghold: Crusaders which was great, and its pretty damn old. Theres also Warcraft III, Starcraft I and Age of Mythology.
Brown Sugar
try civilization II, i used to play that a lot before the new ones came out
Slingaa
Thanks for the replies, Rome Total War looks pretty good. But 'Can You Run It' says this, can I still play it?
WedgeAntilles
doesn't look to bad, don't worry about your OS and your graphics card should be fine, maybe you would have to reduce som settings, not sure.
Creed Bratton
Or you can ignore everything from this topic so far and just get Knights of Honor. It is the best strategy game I've ever played. If you're really into strategy games you will love it. I'm not really into strategy games and I love it. Bernard Jazz
Total Annihilation Exactly what I was going to suggest, I'd avoid Total Annihilation: Kingdoms however.
GTA3Freak-2001
The only thing is you may have trouble playing older games under Win7, its best to research any game mentioned that you'd want to try as some may not work without some sort of third-party patch. Normally when I play an old game on my PC, the screen just goes smaller. If it doesn't work altogether it's okay because these games are only a few quid from amazon. Bernard Jazz
Almost forgot: Z. It's a little different to most strategy games, but still a ton of fun.
.2D
Yeah, you're best bet for a strategy game would be an old AoE, game, Total war or Command and Conquer, Civilization games, from what I've played are a bit different, but still pretty fun. Osric
Empire Earth! First one is awesome and it's pretty old, I think it's from 2000. Empire Earth II is good, but Empire Earth III sucks.
Girish
Transport Tycoon I played this game endlessly on my old PC. It's one of the best strategy games that I've ever played!
eHanHz
You should try Commandos. I've played on my old laptop and ran well tough. It's Intel Celeron M 370, 256 MB RAM Take a look of the game 1. Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines 2. Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty 3. Commandos 2: Men of Courage 4. Commandos 3: Destination Berlin Best Commandos game! 5. Commandos: Strike Force This is a piece of crap! No more Commandos game now. I don't like strategy-based game but i do like this game. It kinda unique. Can't believe what they were thinking whenever they were thinking that a 1st person C&C would be a good idea. Goona have to check these games out. If I'm right, Gamestation are currently selling a box set of C&C games for only a tenner, wouldn't mind picking that up like.
