I'd really love to see this map ported to V.

Give it your best shot!

I'm following the development. Gave the solution for the low-res texture problem. It's a shame that still doesn't allow LOD's. Until they have something, I'm going to test on Unity, which has similar graphics. Will ask BaBaHarD later if he can convert to V and test it.

By the way, thanks for the support, guys. You guys are my fuel.

FiveM is silly in my opinion for testing maps, i tried to convert French Riviera to V and it constantly crashed, so did Vice City which apparently worked fine for most other people.

I'd prefer if I could mod the map without having to deal with FiveM

well until then, there is always the ability to continue modding on GTA IV, while V may be the newest and improved engine. IV still has a fairly decent userbase. not as much as SA but its up there.

FiveM is silly especially with Rockstar at the moment banning them, so until social club is not connected to FiveM, it's just a mad risk. I hope the speculation about Rockstar bringing more maps into the GTA V world is true as that's likely meaning the Map boundaries are basically endless (although everyone has been saying map dlc since the start lol). I bet we could put Gostown, French Rivera, CRR, all with it along with LC which hopefully may be one of the things Rockstar puts in along with Vice City. If we could fit them all in I bet that the game engine would handle it.

Knowing Rockstar though, if they put in that big of a DLC update, that's going to be another long process to fix modding agai, or at least to mod the new stuff lol.

DAMN my phone messed this up xd

Gta 5 map is around 16x16km ...I think that's our limit which is big enough to fit III, VC, SA, IV and V's map all together without moving Los Santos and with extra room for 6 Vice citys map .

honestly, I would like to see the dead SA version be picked back up since most of the limits have been broken since the project was cancelled...

while it may seem like a step backwards, it will give people a reason to play Gostown Paradise on SA once more and will be something different than the many GTA LC/VC/Beta conversions that are being done right now.

plus, despite it being 2015. a majority of people do not either own GTA IV/V due to various reasons or their current PC rigs arent powerful enough to run it (in the case of GTA IV, not even NASA can run that busted piece of crap)

Totally agree with you. There were a few things last to finish the map. Only the city. Problem is with the old G6 team. they thought they didn't want to someone finish their SA mod. If they allow to, i really can consider that, as the work only would be port some of new project buildings to SA.

#Edit: 3 months to go i should be back on modding. A lot of things draw my attention right now

I guess you could do it as a private mod until they give it the "ok" for you to release it

How about using github or something to back up your work? Just saying, version control can be a really nice thing. I can recommend Assembla if you are a SVN sort of guy (like me).

Sorry to hear about your computer problems. If you came to me for service I would not have done that. What a careless idiot, this "computer" guy.

Other than that, your latest screen looks amazing! Nice attention to detail! :)

Can do. But need to do the buildings first.

I have to tell you guys i have no time for the project, as other matters occupy me. My bets are on a MaxScript (or a Cpp script), to make a map editor with an building editor on it. If i succeed, sure i will share the program with you guys. It would speed up the work a lot.

Going to be a while before GTA V gets to that stage unfortunately.

Project Cancelled.

Reason: Insufficient PC Specs.

Explanation: Failed to load even single models with no High-Poly and no Lighting and textures/maps.

Conclusion: Will try to get some RAM, GPU and CPU. Until then, my work is limited to coding some scripts.

Further Declarations: Mini-Gostown (test Map) coming soon.

Further Declarations #2: I'm really sorry, guys. Did my best.

Don't worry MenuET. Sorry for your low specs situation.

Hope you'll get a new specs and give us a good continued project.

Have a good life :)

Hoping to see this continued as well. Gostown was my favourite test map on MTA:Eir because it loaded so quick and was unique.

Today i was planning some pipelines for coding (the only thing which i still can do) with C++/OpenGL/SDL/MaxScript, just to know where to start.

I thought it became pretty interesting and i wanted to share with you guys the so far result. Here it goes (click on the image with right button -> open image on a new tab to see it bigger):

As i made only as reference for myself, it is not friendly to understand, i am affraid so. Blessed you are if you do, but if you don't, im here to answer your questions.

If you generate buildings using a colored overhead view, how do you plan to texture them?

Can you explain further what you mean by "tesselation" in the last part? Is it about increasing level of detail?

Colors on that case are just reference. Not exactly a feature from the program itself.

Imagine the 1st image as a concrete wall. It breaks and the mesh is tesselated to a big chunk. That big chunk is also tesselated to minor chunks and etcetera.

Started to do today the LOD's on the high-tech industrial area (Upper Town). I started with two companies, that are also GTAF Crews, which perfectly fits into this zone.

#1: Facade Corp: Software Campus, Smartphones (Paska Series) and Laptops (Corebook Series) assembly line, and main Asia-Pacific operations hub, as Gostown is a strategical place to ship for entire Asia and Pacific.

#2: Zaibatsu Corporation: Fine chemicals company, specialized on drugs. Here are an administrative office and a minor chemical production factory.

Good news is that some money will enter soon, and i can resume the project. New PC, YAY!

Hope to see this be converted as an add on to GTA V some day, along with LC. I guess this map could be placed ether south east of LS, and represent one of the tropical islands down that way.

Looks pretty neat. Hell, other than the tropical stuff this is a perfect map. If you need any suburban houses, let me know because I got a bunch of them I could send your way.

Working on reviving the SA edition through a Multi Theift Auto Server.

Fixed all the missing ground pieces and what not; also adding in new stuff.

There's a quick time-laps thing; features improved graphics, multiplayer, etc.

(If I can get proper permissions and what not I want to try to convert the updated IV version to SA)
