I've juste decided to search about this old project today, and WOW, i was really surprised to see that it's in dev's again, on the IV Engine !

 

Awesome guys ! Really good job done Tanjes, and well, just add this thread to my fav's to see how the project is going on the nearly days ...

 

( Sorry for the english, long long time since i've posted something here, I lost some englih skills on other french forum an communauty ! )

There will be all trees,race tracks n so on too? Cuz in orginal SA GO 6 was glitchly trees,they disappeared n appeared.That was strange...n alot of bugs was too... mad.gif I hope in IV they will be fixed biggrin.gif Really awesome looks beta pictures.

If the're anything like the Laguna Seca cols they arent that bad.

 

But thats just a small map addition that can easily be broken down into little pieces so the col poly limit isn't overstepped.

 

Whereas Gostown is going to be a lot harder breakdown, so the cols will be very basic.

If i remember well, the original G6, i talk about the last version on SA was already split in almost pieces due to he .col ! I guess Tanjes maybe use the same one converted on the IV engine =)

Tanjes so u told u'll return in March now the end of March but nothing progress of this mod or u still do your racetrack? Anyway please start to do this mod soon just Gostown is one of the best mods ever!

Last time I checked the 23rd wasn't the end of march. Be patient.

(I'm guessing you're gonna get mad at me now, but whatever..)

Personally , i hate how all this is going , there need to be tools to convert this faster i mean noone has time to convert model by model , this way it can take years to finish just 1 project. Thing is that there are many great maps on SA just waiting to be transmitted to RAGE. Just noone wants to create nice tools on this.

 

There is the co-operation missing , Forums back in a day when San Andreas was fresh were the forums that should be now too! Not what we have today.

I was just thinking that because gosttown 6 does not take up that much space on the map horizontally we may be able to fit it in next to GTA 4's map. The nice thing about gta 4 is rockstar left a lot of room out side the map. There is a tun of room south of LC. You can tell how far out you can put stuff by clearing out the water. Outside the bounds their is endless amounts of water and where the world that objects can be placed in ends where the water starts. Same for SA. But another way to tell is how far you can go out of the map in mp before you die and your vehicle explodes. You guys have to agree that having gost town south of IV's LC would be SICK!!! I think there is room. Gosttown is big because it is really tall. But on the horizontal radar its probaly a little bigger than Broker. Maybe the size of Broker and Bohan combined at the largest which would fit. Remember I'm only a talking about horizontally.

 

Edit: GTARandom posted whell I was typing this long post. But I agree with him 100%. There haven't been many nice map and mold converters out there lately. But it should work both ways so webcan port SA maps to IV easier and IV maps to SA easier.

Yes , but again San Andreas can remove every obstacle in that area as well with limit adjuster. Thats what i keep on saying : IV NEEDS A LIMIT ADJUSTER!

I agree with that too. Ive been saying that for a while. In the original gta we won't even be able to get a helicopter above gost town. Hey maybe with a limit adjuster we could change how many people can be in an MP game. 100 people free mode. Also with a limit adjuster we may be able to get the game to run smooth. Maybe the Open IV team will look into it.
