[WIP|IV-EFLC] Gostown Paradise

Recommended Posts

absolutely astonishing. i hope that this will not only bring the mod to iv, but also expand on it, with new features and areas to explore

best of luck smile.gif

Yeah that will make it more good and how about new vehicles. But will be Niko be the player or are you willing to change him?

At the moment, this is a strict map conversion, so do not expect a plot and custom cars/player for this.

Well if enough people show interest in contributing once a first alpha is released, it will expand to new horizons.

Not really tounge.gif

In fact an iteration of the SA project we called GP7 was intended to be developed on IV but it took too much time before any tool set were out and I retired short time after that from modding. Now I'm just involved in this GP6 conversion as PR guy.

hell damn man!

i cant wait to put my dirty hands on that tropical paradise and for sure taking a rage down the hill/cliff with an stallion and watching physics do their work

Haha hell yeah!

the picture looks very nice. it take time to make a quality mod like this so i'm waiting patiently. anyway, thanks to ParoXum and the team for their damn nice work.

Thats a load for starters quechus, I have a 5yo duel core 1.8GHz processor, which is not supposed to be able to run it .

...but I use an Nvidia9600GT 1GBVram with it, and I can run the game smoothly with 35-40fps no problem, with all but three of the settings maxed (except for shadow quality which is on low, and the view distance and detail distance which are both set to 30)

Although if I did have a better CPU I do agree it would be even better. wink.gif

Whats your res?

1024 x 768?

Well thats true I didn't take res into account.

I have it set to the max res of my monitor which is 1280x1024 60hz (my monitor is quite old too lol.gif )

But with that said I'm only currently using 680Mb of a posible 1024Mb Vmem, so if I had a bigger monitor I could still support up to 2560x1600 which would apparently require 320Mb of Vmem according to

CharmingCharlie's calculations in the 'what do the Graphical settings do?' section of the below link.

for me i get solid 40-50 fps maybe 30 when theres lots of traffic

My settings:

Resolution: 1920x1080

Texture: High

Shadows: High (Very high looks too hard for me, i like it soft and hard at the same time)

Water: Medium (I can take it to very high but the water looks too noisy for my taste)

Filter thingy: x16

Everything else:

50

did i miss something?

Yeah thats about right. I'm guessing you didn't bother loading up to look lol.gif

The only worry I have with mine is, even though I'm getting an acceptable frame rate, it is currently using 93% of the CPU in order to achieve it! :S

Probably not going to last much longer sad.gif

This isn't the right place to say this, but I recommend getting an Intel Core I7 920. Great CPU that isn't uber expensive.

Ontopic: Wow, I haven't played Gostown since I had my old PC (which could only play SA on lowest graphics XD). Gonna have to try it again biggrin.gif
