SilentSeas
Are there any soundtracks that have really caught your attention? Are there any that you feel do a fantastic job at capturing or adding to the atmosphere of a film, game, TV series or even a play? I personally have to go for the Assassin's Creed II soundtrack. In my opinion Jesper Kyd has done an astounding job capturing the vibrancy of renaissance Italy.

Wordsworth
Yasushi Ishii's soundtrack to the Hellsing anime series. The 13 ep series is the one I'm referencing, not the multiple OVA films made afterward. The double disc is "Hellsing I: Raid" and "Hellsing II: Ruins". My favorite soundtrack perhaps. Some of it is in Japanese and some in English. A mix of rock, jazz, pop, shoegaze, any of the other stuff in between. Tyler
As far as OSTs go I'd go far as to say Oblivion is one of the best symphonies I've ever heard. Jeremy Soule is the f*cking man for the Orchestra ensemble. Another favourite would be Star Wars, specifically 'Binary Sunset'. the French Horn on that one always gets me. Other notable games would have to be Mass Effect, the Halo Series, Hitman (opera I.E. Ave Marie) etc etc. For movies; The Godfather, Robocop, Blade Runner, A Scanner Darkly, Fight Club, Gooodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Scarface, Back to the Future, Casino and all the ones Skins mentioned. Blade runner definitely has to be my favourite OST;
The-King
Without a doubt Eureka Seven has by far the OST I've ever heard. Naoki Sato is brilliant not to mention the numerous other absolutely amazing pieces of music present throughout the series. Of course the show itself actually gives a nod to several tracks throughout it's course, including Hiroshi Watanabe's absolutely wonderful Get It By Your Hands which actually takes a pretty big part in several episodes. Aside from the soundtrack the show does a wonderful job in referencing amazing musicians in general, including Aphex Twin, among others. My second is deservingly Samurai Champloo's, since Nujabes has long been my favorite Hip-Hop producer and his work on the show is absolutely amazing. Third goes to Yoko Kanno's (for all intents and purposes a musical genius) work on Cowboy Bebop, a show so beyond words that an entire musical act was formed just in the name of creating a soundtrack for the show (The Seatbelts), though their music extended briefly beyond it with numerous remixes and dozens of live appearances. Gamewise I have a hard time discounting Morrowind's OST, no soundtrack has done so well to draw me into a game and consistently remind me of the absolute scale of of the game, as well as hint at it's infinite potential. I also have to give Fable's OST a shout-out as well, Danny Elfman is a brilliant composer and I'd feel shameful if I didn't give him his dues. EDIT: I also can't forget Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead/2's soundtracks, which are both bloody amazing. Andrewbot
"How to Train Your Dragon" has a great soundtrack, and it went perfectly with the movie. When Hiccup and Astrid ride Toothless together for the first time (calmly) End of the film Another great songs are "Focus, Hiccup," "Forbidden Friendship," and "Test Drive."
