TLAD - How to run DLC?

Recommended Posts

I bought The Lost and Dammed from GFWL Marketplace. I downloaded the content, installed and I ran GTA IV. I clicked on Episodes from Liberty City, then The Lost and Dammed - and - instead of my downloaded game, the GFWL window had appeared, asking me, if I want to download the DLC again. There is no "play" button, just "re-download" or "cancel". I downloaded and installed this add-on for a few times, nothing changes. Still the same window.

Did anybody have the same problem? Any tips to run the DLC?

(There is no LaunchELFC.exe or any new executable file in the game's directory)

maybe try to reinstall the whole thing? btw, where are you form? Seems I can't buy the DLCs of GTA IV through GFWL Marketplace, it said is not available in my region. I really want to run both DLCs above the original GTA IV game files instead of 2 separate games.

Reinstall is the only solution? sad.gif Maybe the reason of my problem is the fact, that I installed GTA IV on D:\ and DLC installs on C:\ in Games For Windows Live folder?

BTW:

I'm from Poland and both DLCs are available for download in GFWL Marketplace in my region.

As far as I see what the others said the DLC from GFWL need the original game files, try to adjust the DLC install location to original IV folder. Hope this helps. smile.gif

BTW, I just used GFWL app to check and the DLCs are available in my region. What I did before is go to the official GFWL site and this seems don't wok.

Do you have the Original IV Play disc in you DVD drive? The Download versions require the Original IV disc to run, as is why it says on the EFLC case something along the lines of "Grand Theft Auto IV Not Required to Play". Are you using the Original DVD for IV or a No DVD Crack(which No DVD/CD cracks are a violation of Statues 815.01(2)(4)(5), which is a Felony)-according to the Criminal Justice Source book 2009-2010 Edition.-We learned this in Legal class back in September.

Also, Please post the Required info. from the Pinned Troubleshooting topic-located here, as posted be Justin(a Moderator):

Before you post a topic, please read the pinned bug lists/fixes. It is likely that you're not the first person to encounter a problem, and we may have found a solution already. In addition to these pinned topics, please utilize the forum search engine. adamcs has produced an extremely helpful guide which explains the finer points of successful searching, accessible here.

If all of the above is no help, you'll need to post a new topic. Please provide useful topic titles. "Help" or "problem" give us no insight into the problem - every topic in the Troubleshooting forum will no doubt entail a problem seeking help!

To get the most amount of help for your problem, we need as many details as we can get about your system's specs. Therefore it is highly suggested (read: demanded) that you provide:

• What platform: PC, PS3, or X-Box

• What version number of GTA: IV

• What CPU and its speed

• How much RAM, also what kind (DDR, SDRAM) and speed

• What video card and driver version

• Which version of Windows (and any service packs)

• Which DirectX version and driver version

• What sound card and driver version

• History: Is this your first install? Did it work once before? Anything that is relevant.

• Screenshots, if applicable. This is especially necessary with display issues which can be explained far easier by use of visual aids.

• Above all else, a detailed description of your problem. Give as much information as possible! Keep it relevant, though. We don't need a fifty-page printout from some diagnosis program. Usually the above prompts will suffice.

This will help people give better suggestions to help, hence is why it was Pinned and Posted be a moderator. Just a heads up..

Yes, I have original IV disc in DVD drive.

I was searching in Live/Rockstar help - I didn't find a solution.

My computer (it's a notebook):

Intel Core i7-620M (2,66 Ghz, Turbo Boost 3,33 Ghz)

4 GB RAM DDR3

ATI Mobility Radeon 5650M

640 GB HDD

Windows 7 HP 64bit

GTA IV version - patch 1.7; works great; I have problems only with DLC.

Are ALL your drivers up to date for your Video card, Sound card, DX, etc? Also, try "rolling back" to a previous version of the Patch-I have read that V1.4 works great. Also, try running the game in Compatibilty mode. Also, remember to delete the .set file from the User Files Folder in Documents(Vista/7) after each step you try. Hope this helps.
