I ts just wrong sometimes but i think in the game its more sounds like michael hollic voice and not niko bellick

 

Just remember then Niko says to Elizabeta "They double cross your boy, but i manage to keep him alive". It's was really awesome, with really cool accent, so why Niko can't talk like that the rest of the game and not just only the begining of the story line, that just sucks balls. His voice really different to the end of the game compare to his beginig of the game, even random things on the street niko says sounds more cool in the begining, like "neuvoisto"

It also depends on the situation Niko is in. So, when Niko is in a firefight, he'll be mad as hell. But when Niko is driving, He'll sound kinda pissed off.

I like Niko's voice but when I started to play GTA IV I thought the voice actor was the same who voice acted Cesar Vialpando from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas!!!

It is hard to keep an accent that you don't posses during the whole game voice recording...Michael just couldn't do it all the time so he kinda slipped and used more of an american accent here and then, but it's all alright, except for that poor almost non like Serbian language he speaks.... Wasn't it easier to hire a Serbian who knows English than American who doesn't know Serbian?

That is the confusing thing with Niko, it is not made 100% clear what country he comes from, is he Bulgarian, Serbian, Russian, what?

He is Serbian. Roman says his English is better than his Serbian at the beginning.. Plus the bad Serbian Michael Hollick speaks when the titles are gray is Serbian. I recognized it.

That's a good question. They certainly got authenticity over professional experience when they cast Young Maylay as CJ in San Andreas. I imagine Dan Houser, a New York-based writer from England, was quite happy to have someone who actually speaks in a Compton, California dialect performing a character who is from a fictional version of that very place, and also the consulting and co-writing services of West Coast rap producer DJ Pooh helped to make sure everything was credible, culture-wise.

 

Dialect imperfections aside, Michael Hollick did a great job as Niko and there were probably working considerations that took precedence over finding a real Serbian. According to interviews he originally auditioned to do motion capture, but when they heard him speaking the lines they cast him for the voice as well. In fact the casting of CJ was similarly a bit of luck, when Young Maylay was heard on speakerphone with DJ Pooh. So maybe Rockstar just goes with their guts when they hear what they like.

Actually, I think it was cooler than Niko had a heavy accent, and gradually got more Americanized as time went on. Happens to most people who move there. I thought it was a neat touch.

Well actually, the language people speak in Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina is Serbian, only with slight changes. Croatian is also very similar, but it's not Serbian, it's Croatian.

I'm Serbian. And it's Serbian. If you play without subtitles, I can translate it, just post what you need to know.

I never knew what he was, nor did I care really. Before the game came out I was crazy for it reading every article. all The Articles said Niko was Russian. But I guess then It was just a guess. Well 2 years after the game I actually learn he's Serbian. Mmm
