Can't enter STEAM chat in-game

Okay so I bought GTA IV on Amazon (I don't like the STEAM Version. I got a better deal anyways.) I NEEDED a crack to run the ScriptHook scripts. (Razor1911 Crack) and when I go in the game, It doesn't say I can enter STEAM CHAT and enter the steam community through the game....Why?

He could be using Steam to launch the game in order to have access to the functions that the overlay gives you. It's what I do with all of my games.

 

Though why he wouldn't like the Steam version and still use Steam to launch it still doesn't really make any sense, since there's no real difference between a retail game and one downloaded through Steam outside of the file placement and automatic updating/installation, among other minimal things.

Could the crack or the ScriptHook scripts be interfering with the Steam app?

CheifyX, did the Steam app work before you installed the crack or the scripts? If so, I suggest getting rid of the crack and/or the scripts.

No, before I installed this new GTA IV, The one I had before I wiped my computer, was working fine. I had all of that crack stuff and that ScriptHook stuff.

Well, Steam is unfamiliar territory for me but have you tried reinstalling Steam? Does the game show up in the Steam app? Is it supposed to?

The third party loader you got is probably the Steam version launcher and is for that reason messed up. Are you sure you need that file to run some mod? Mods don't require it usually.
