T-ru Posted November 26, 2010 Share Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) In this topic i'll try to explane some parametres(those who i knows) from timecyc.dat file and would ask all who knows some details to share them here.I do this because it's very important file and from it depends a lot of game performance and graphic quality also will be nice to know all things in this file so everyone can change it in depending from the system. First you'll need from editIV to edit the file , many greetings to creators I'll write only for those parametres who i knows Atmosphere page Sun: Multiplier-This parameter is for the power of sunlight,if increase it will get more sunlight and sun tint from some objects like windows,carglass,water and many others, if lower it will get opposite effects from the listed.This parameter influence on the performance only in combination with bloom effect Lights: Direct color multiplier-If increase it will get more bright sunlights and more detailed shadows, if lower it will get shadow on the whole map it's very performance usefull when it's rain,drizzle or foggy and yes this parameter influence on the performance Visual Effects page Post-effects: Particle HDR-I don't know what exactly do this effect but i think this is for more particles in the things like dust,exhalation,smoke,some lights and influence on the performance in combination with the listed effects. Intensity Bloom:The whole bloom,influence on the performance, mostly with effects like a sun tint,reflection,lamps lights,explosions and some others. Luminosity: Min-If lower it will get more brightness and if increase it will get more darkness, sorry if i wrong. Misc: Far Clip-Distance which can be seen, if increase it will get more visible distance and influence on the performance Ambient Occlusion Scaler- Ambient occlusion,lower it more performance,it usefull to be lower when is night because it's not much necessary on the night time Global Reflection-Whole reflection,influence on the performance, mostly with effects like a lamps lights and bloom Depth FX: Near-Near visible effects only for reflection, fire bloom and rain drops(when crashed on the ground only), very influence on the performance and you can lower it's not so usefull Far-Same things like 'near' but little bit in far distance and you can lower it's not so usefull Other Parametres page Night Outlined Edges-I tried many values but nothing Outlined Edges1- Outlined Edges2- Water Reflection-Reflection from water but no from rain water ,sorry if i wrong Far Sprite Size-If your noticed when look in the far distance and from helicopter there is a sprite size and when get closer they disappear this is a far sprite size it's influence on the performance but very little So this is what i know from timesys.dat it's will be very nice if someone share some experiens Edited November 26, 2010 by T-ru Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
