-Uncomfortable controller

-A bit expensive.

 

 

XBOX 360

 

Advantages:

-Comfortable controller

-Can install games to HDD for better performance

 

Disadvantages:

-Pay for online play.

-Different charging cable.

-Bulky A/C adapter.

-The disk inside the drive scratches if the XBOX is moved.

I don't find the ps3 controller uncomfortable I think its better than xbox's controller that personal preference so you can't really use that, also ps3s are pretty affordable now.

Just so you know, chances are this will be locked, as it's in this subforum's stated rules written by me and approved by the Led-By of this section that topics of this nature are generally frowned upon and usually locked. They let your last topic go because it was civilized enough, but when it comes to just PS3 vs. Xbox topics the fanboys always come crawling out of the woodwork and turn it into an utter sh*t-storm.

Reading the TC's opening post you can't help but feel he is just a tinsy winsy bit biased towards the PS3 . He lists 7 good things about the PS3 and only 2 bad things. However when it comes to the xbox 360 he lists only 1 good thing and loads of bad things . Oh and I believe the xbox 360 slim has WiFi built in.

 

I see the TC finally acknowledged the PC is superior graphically since he seems to have given up on his last topic here and oddly enough left the PC completely out of the discussion this time ........ hm I wonder why ?

If you are going to do a topic like this then it is only fair you approach it neutrally which you haven't done here. All you seem to have done is show people you have a big hard on for the PS3 and have nothing but bad things to say about the 360.

this is exactly why these kinda topics suck, you can't even make it to a second page without some sort of argument starting..

 

It's been debated over and over again, and it always comes to the same conclusion every single time, it all comes down to personal preference. Not one is better nor is the other any worse, it's just about what You like.

I haven't played my PS3 since May, but I bought a 360S in July (Although I owned a Arcade prior). Since then I play my 360 almost everyday. My PS3 is packed away as I'm in the process of moving, but I'll play it again once I move into a new house.

 

I prefer playing my 360. I like the general layout of the dashboard more then the PS3's menu, and I'm starting to find the controller of the 360 more comfortable to use.

 

GrandMaster Smith is right. No matter how hard these sort of threads try to remain civil eventually they turn into a sh*tfight. I've been a Playstation fan since I got my first PS1 in 1997, but I have no brand preference, and acknowledge other consoles out there.

 

There's no "better". It's what suits the person.

I would add Better online for xbox's advantages and not as good online play to PS3 disavantages...

 

Both Consoles have built in WiFi

 

PS3 isnt quite as expensive as it once was.

 

Some Xbox controllers come with a charge kit for $50 (the original price of wireless controllers but minus the charge kit).

 

The 360 controllers are a bit more solid (my opinion)

 

Party chat on different games (idk if thats what the PSN plus thing is or not)

 

You should add the Consoles exclusives (Xbox: Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Condemned, Left 4 Dead, Alan Wake, Crackdown, Forza, Perfect Dark, Project Gotham Racing; PS3: Agent, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, InFamous, Killzone, Little Big Planet, MAG, MLB: The Show, Motorstorm, Resistance, SOCOM, Twisted Metal, Uncharted, Yakuza) I DID NOT INCLUDE SERIES THAT HAVE OR WILL HAVE HAD ONE GAME ON ANOTHER CONSOLE.

 

Add Kinect to Xbox advantages and add Move to PS3 advantages.

yeah... by AC adapter you dont mean the power brick do ya... cause that thing has a surge protector.... which has saved my console multiple times since ive had a 360... my N64 got fried a few years ago...

 

and the 360 slim is actually smaller than the PS3 slim but not by much tbh....

PS3

- Free online

- More comfortable controller for me, but everyone's different

- Six Axis

- Rechargeable controller

- Doesn't sound like a vacuum while playing games; very silent

- Faster loading times in everything

- Blu-ray

- Blutooth

- Internet Browser

- Sleek design

- Touch buttons (phat)

 

 

Xbox 360

- More online features

- Cross game chat

- 802.11/n Wifi (slim)

- 5 USB ports (slim)

- Can install games to HDD for better performance

 

and thats all I could think of.

 

Xbox 360 finally almost has in 2010 what PS3 had in 2006

Well its widely known that the Xbox's online is more solid and better overall than the Playstation's.

 

@baptiste: MGS isnt an exclusive any more... MGS:Rising is coming out for both consoles which means the franchise is no longer exclusive. and now a days xbox has been getting early access eclusivity deals on DLC for game... like the CoD games... Xbox gets them first til 2012 i believe.

 

@piperka: on the Comfy controller thing youre 100% correct... i prefer the solidness and the heaviness of the 360 controllers over what i think are the light flimsiness of PS3 controllers. The xbox 360 slim also has touch buttons also and its smaller and lighter than the PS3 slim model.

 

but yeah its clear that the OP is biased at least some...

The only thing good about that is it reduces the Xbox 360's Loudness. You still need the disc to play it so there's basically no point.

No. That is ONE of the good things about it. Not only does it reduce loudness, it also reduces load times and reduces wear and tear on the disc drive.
