mikkenugent
IMHO I think some of these AAA titles may not see big profits. L.A. Noire especially. I know alot of people here are way into the idea but honestly Im not sold on it. Ive said so many times the true reason (besides the actual story) why RDR was such a big hit was only due to the fact that it was on GTA w/ a cowboy hat. Almost the same everythin, which is not a bad thing at all im not trashin RDR becoz I did actually love it, but I loved it because it was in fact a GTA but in a different time and universe. With this said I dont think its a sure bet Noire will be as huge hit as GTA or RDR. Not that its a good or bad thing but R* is known for givin u titles that allow u to go crazy with almost unlimited fire power, fast cars and if you get tired of that, u still have hidden packages (or birds) and stunt jumps to keep you occupied. And on top of all of this u can play the game however u want. To me these are the biggest reasons I enjoy these games so much (again besides the stories that fuel the carnage). Noire is much more linear with few gun fights and honestly u wont be able to play the game how u like by what the info given seems to make it out as. Remember alotta people said Mafia 2 would topple GTA with its innovations but since it was so linear people dropped those claims very quickly. With this said RDR was considered a sleeper hit and obviously these other titles could be too, but in my line of reasonin is that if Noire doesnt bring the same or better revenue as RDR that could bring GTA's release date quicker, it also seems Agents release date has been pushed back as well which could also push GTA's release as well. Im shootin for Q4 release in October of 2011 but thats pure speculative on my part, but I do think R* should honestly always remember why they're where they are today, GTA. If these other AAA titles are so great even an announcement of a GTA wouldnt hurt the sales if they are these great innovative games that they are claimed to be. Sorry for the rant, Mikke
MiamiVice1984
I hate to say this but i dont think R* will announce next GTA until L.A Noire is realesed becuse new GTA will for sure overshadow it. But R* are going to have some kind of event this week? they might tell us something about GTA V then? Its been 3 years since IV was realesed so im pritty sure they will announce it as soon L.A Noire is realesed.
Patrizio
Not that this means anything but there IS a pattern of release (although most probably just conicidence) that could hint when GTA V will come out: Basically if you look at the major, main releases from III onwards, not including the Stories or handhelds versions obviously, then the time of release increases by a year each time: GTA III: 2001 to GTA VC: 2002 = 1 Year GTA VC: 2002 to GTA SA: 2004 = 2 Years GTA SA: 2004 to GTA IV: 2007 (ORIG.) = 3 Years GTA IV: 2007 to GTA V: 2011? = 4 Years? However, GTA IV as we know was delayed and released in April 2008 - However, if we count this as anomaly as all the other major releases (I'm referring to the III era onwards as above) were set for, and were released, in Oct./Nov., then we should assume that GTA V would be set for release Oct./Nov. 2011... Probably meaningless, but interesting nonetheless.
Jabalous
No offense, but I'm really laughing at those who think that GTA V will release in 2011. 2012 is more logical, but I believe it won't happen until mid-2013 at least. I explained why I believe in this in different topics, so I wouldn't repeat the same stuff over and over. Emm Ell
No offense, but I'm really laughing at those who think that GTA V will release in 2011. 2012 is more logical, but I believe it won't happen until mid-2013 at least. I guess it all depends how long they've been working on it thusfar, i'm sure they would of begun the initial research etc not long after the release of IV. When it comes to DLC, many companies divide their workforce to focus on it, and others to begin new projects, but the IV dlc's were quite in-depth so this may of not been the case. I could see them announcing it for late 2011, but perhaps being delayed for spring 2012. Just for the record too, we're pretty much in 2011, in what, 28 days?
