Tyler
Duke Nukem will obviously be better regardless. You can't be a gangsta rapper after the age of 40.

But you can be an O.G, even though Dre isn't. Still like this guys music though.
Tyler
I don't really prefer him anymore. He was pretty good when he was in N.W.A, and his work as a producer is much better than his actual rapping, but nonetheless I might get the album. Kippers
his work as a producer is much better than his actual rapping Man hasn't written one of his own verses for years (Ever?). The majority of The Chronic's lyrics were actually written by Snoop I believe. i like his delivery and he always comes out with a great beat though. I've read he's only worked on the album on and off for the same amount of time as a regular album since it was first announced, unlike DNF which has been pretty much consistently in development and redevelopment blah blah blah. E.A.B.
Both of these things should have come out ages ago. They've put it off for so long; expectations have risen immensely; expectations will never be met, as well. These two things will inevitably flop-hard. At least, when it comes to what people wanted out of it. It reminds me of the Metalocalypse episode where they kept DELETING completed albums cause it wasn't 'good enough'. Ice Cube and MC Ren, with a little bit of Eazy right? As far as the album goes, He had kids at some point did he not? I'm sure raising a child sort of gets in the way of a gangsta rap album for some time.

Tyler
Indeed he did Bapps, Dre is a pretty good lyricist, to be perfectly honest. I just don't feel that he himself is a good rapper, per Se. His production and lyrical talent is amazing though, I'd put him in the top contributions to rap for sure.

Machiavelli's Prophecy
Detox. The first single "Kush ft. Snoop Dogg and Akon" is already released and a friend of mine was on the filming set of the first music video. If I recall correctly it's partly filmed in a cemetary or something. I will check it out but I don't expect alot from it. I mean I'm sure it's going to be dope as I even liked that unfinished leaked track "Flashing" which EVERYONE else hated lmao. But it's just dumb to think that because it's "in the making" for alot of years it should be perfect. Dre prolly really started working on it like a few months ago. I also think rapper the game is gonna be in it as recenly a picture was released by The game showing him and Dre in the studio. Which is a good thing cause game is sick! It's gonna be good times for hiphop lovers, a new 2Pac album is prolly being released in a little bit to..

I was under the imppression that he did Chronic/2001 MOSTLY by himself no? i'm just getting that info from what i've previously heard and a quote from this 1993 Rolling Stones interview with Dre and Snoop: Snoop wrote the rhymes for — and rapped on — about 60 percent of The Chronic The only song Dre's on his own for in Chronic (A Nigga Witta Gun) was written by Snoop lol. Then there are all the other featured artists - Lady of Rage, Kurupt, D.O.C, Nate Dogg, RBX etc writing their verses - so Dre definitely didn't write the majority of it. he's often known for having people ghostwrite his verses though...At least in N.W.A as mentioned above and recently other rappers have mentioned ghostwriting for Detox. EDIT: I don't know much about who wrote 2001 but according to Wiki he didn't write any of it Edited November 25, 2010 by kippers. 習うより慣れろ
gamesguru
First leaked Song out! There's been many leaks and references, especially over the last few years. Gathering from Dre's reaction, this wasn't intended to be a single, or even for the album. He stated the song would be the only one of it's kind on the album (theme wise). Dre and Interscope decided to use the leak of Kush and it's popularity as momentum, seeing as it is the first leak 'from' Detox that has garnered an overall positive response. Still the best rapper around. As for Dr.Dre being the best rapper around, especially today, when his last album was in 1999, is somewhat insulting to those who not only wrote his lyrics, but the many rappers out there that could easily outshine Dr.Dre without a second glance. If you think Dre's strong point (or one of them) is his rapping capabilities, then you should check into broadening your horizons. Lets also not confuse writing a song with producing one. I know Royce Da 5'9" wrote a bit of 2001 Indeed he did. He wrote The Message. Also, my bet is on Detox being released before Duke Nukem Forever. I feel that Detox may come early next year, or at the latest during Summer. I think Duke Nukem Forever will be released late August.
