Stardrone
...are asking for a GTA V too early? Let's take a look at GTA San Andreas' release year: 2004. GTA IV was released four years later, in 2008. During those four years, there were discussions about the new GTA, but definitely not as many as there are now. I mean, everybody was happy with SA's new features and map, and the years passed quickly. Now, I think that some of us got bored by GTA IV too early. And if we get bored by a game, logically we demand a new one. As Rockstar said, GTA V will come out no later than 2012. That's another four years of waiting, theoretically. Since IV' storyline is shorter than SA's, and IV has a lack of features present in SA, we cannot pass through these four years so quickly as we did between SA and IV. What's your opinion about this? jnzooger
As Rockstar said, GTA V will come out no later than 2012. Proof? I've never seen them say anything like this. Comparing the time between SA and IV is pointless. There were 2 games between SA and IV and there have been 3 after IV.
Anasterian
But it can't take so long.... What i mean is after SA they were making this new "Rage" engine, right? And then the Euphoria physics engine. Now they have both of this ready, and unless they went through a sudden change, for all i know, R* does use parts of previous GTA's in new ones. coin-god
R* didn't make Euphoria. Natual Motion did, they just bought the license.

Not only that, but also a new console generation plus a new engine to figger out.

Tyler
Rockstar has RAGE, there is no chance they're making a new engine any time soon. As far as the game goes, Vice was released in 2002, and San Andreas two years later. So as you can see, there is no way you will guess when Rockstar will make a new game. They are probably developing the game right now, but we won't know until they're almost finished with the product.
Kwandilibro
Doesn't this go in the reveal and release thread? OT though, considering the random release times of R*, and the "stalling" games (VCS, LCS), it's ind of pointless to try and conclude when we'll see another GTA.R* ain't going by our schedule. But as Unoriginal44 said, there's no new engine on the forecast (nor is there a need for one), so it's really just improving the engine and developing the game. Other games have sh*t to do with GTA as far as development. Maybe release......
