Game Won't Load

I have just installed GTA IV (legit) on my Win 7 Ultimate x86 but the game won't load. Everytime I either choose to play offline of online via social club, the social club screen will disappear but only to reappear seconds later. I have installed latest GTA IV patches, drivers, changed compatibility modes etc. Has any body else had this problem.

Did you update Games for Windows Live? That might be your problem. My game wouldn't run after installing the 1.0.7 patch, but once I updated GFWL it started working again. The update I used I found here on Rockstar's website. Then again I'm using XLiveLess now, so I uninstalled GFWL.

Have you installed the vc++ libraries found on the game disk? Post your PC specs.
