Vice city is a big place, hopefully you can find someone to help you and start converting the other island to speed things up. Also have you tried using R*s original collision files rather than making your own from scratch? most of them are optimized pretty well.

i don't know if this is possible so don't call me stupid if it is stupid im not modder

 

put together san andreas LC vice city together and have a script loading each map sep like it does on gta 3 and vice city a splash screen loading the map atleast i think it's loading the map basically all maps together that would be huge could have a script that let's you travel to the different locations by plane or by boat or simply alone when you pass the line it changes the map

 

it should be possible as it will load each map sep

 

correct me if im wrong if it's possible it would be epic

Yes , im using them all the time , but even they are too high poly, so sometimes even they aren't good enough until i modfy em wink.gif

Yes , i keep my cols below 150 polys, having more would make it unstable and would cause nothing but problems.

I've said this already like 2 times in this topic.. cols atm aren't anything great when it comes to stability , but Shadow will fix it soon wink.gif

Is there a poly limit to IV cols then?

No just to my exporter wink.gif It exports really bad cols. If you go above 100 polys there is a higher possibility of crashes.

No just to my exporter wink.gif It exports really bad cols. If you go above 100 polys there is a higher possibility of crashes.

Will you be updating models as well? I mean this is every GTA gamer's wet dream. But I have to admit, if there's no updates to the map, it might feel a bit, old...

 

Even though I am very busy with stuff I could try my hand at some models. Just let me know if you want the help, I'll try and do some things, I need the practise, considering I don't model very often anymore (Cookie Monster isn't finished yet. sad.gif)

Don't worry once its all ported across and playable VCHD will be ported over the top so people can choose orig VC or VCHD

Only notice this now, awesome stuff. Try to 'update' the map models aswell. Lampposts, fire hydrants, some of the 'textures that represent models' should also be replaced by decent '3D models'.

well just let shadow work a lil bit as his life goes on

 

1-cols wont go far with cols(as said 150 polys by much of them)

2-Doesnt make collision or parameter limit for explosives, stickys and RPG'S(even car explosions) dont got on the mesh col, they need to hit some IV Map land to explode/get stick'ed

and if there is no land below them, then you will see the RPG doing underwater explosion

3-No materials, as i say you wont get grass or concrete, or tarmark, or dry/wet mud and much of the col materials SA has

 

I think those 3 are the 3 principal things limiting awsome maps from going on

prince has a life, is a guy in mid-age he has alot of club nights, chicks and relations in the future, i think nobody would leave that for GTA Modding

except you are a damn geek no lifer or not social idiot

so, for sure you will have to wait and start doing maps without cols and when prince really gets time i dont know...vacations maybe and he does

great and significant advance in COLS, start doing cols for the whole map, by now do the meshes and just put an empty col file so the game reads it

and doesnt start to f*ck it hard

 

plus i talked to him in MSN, and being damn honest....all just go the damn way to download button and close GTAFORUMS and go to start playing with 3D MAX and this scripts

and just come back to GTA Forums to show progress or start doing BS or throwing crap agaisnt him for fails and sh*t when you cant read they arnt so cool and still in TEST stage

and really forget about the lil post saying THANKS, i wont say im the only one but just seen appart from me 2 ppl from the maybe 30 commenting in this post saying the "THANKS" to this guy

 

really, just go and play with the toys you have!a child wont play with a toy he doesnt have, and if yes...then he is a backyardigan xD

 

Nah, really be happy with the awsome stuff here, i think is pretty much to thank prince about.
