Help would be appreciated

I'm doing a total car sound replacement for IV and Tbogt and I have a good resource but the thing is I don't know which cars go to which sound file(I only know some) so what I'm asking you people to do is to tell me if you know which cars go to which file to speed up my work because this is slowing me down the most.

These are sounds that I know which car are they used by(and have changed them so far):

4 cylinder saloon & sport

Muscle 1,2,3,4(2 is not changed as it is good)

Supercar 1,2

Fast 1,3

1000 racebike

600 street bike

4x4(not changed yet but i know what cars use it)

Rally racer(evryone knows this but i haven't changed it yet)

 

All the files above(except those with notes by them) have been changed so far.

Now i'd appreciate VERY MUCH if you could tell me the rest(I DON'T CARE ABOUT BOATS/HARLEYS/FAGGIO/DILLETANTE) so here's a list of whati don't know:

Hatchback 1,2(i know what that means just don't know which cars use 1 and which 2)

Luxury car 1

V style 1,2,3,4

Fast 2,4

V8 luxury and v8 wagon

Trawler(don't know if it's a car actually)

I can't help you directly but I have an idea that may speed things up for you:

 

Backup what you've done so far then replace all the as yet unidentified sounds with non-car sounds. These could be short bursts of music, recorded speech, animal noises, or whatever you like as long as they would stand out in the game and are not too similar to one another or existing game sounds. Make sure you keep a note of what sound you've assigned to each sound file, then run the game and use a trainer or car spawner to spawn each vehicle in turn and see what noise they make.

 

EDIT:

I'd suggest doing the spawing somewhere quiet like Happiness Island otherwise the cacophony from traffic may make it hard to hear what you're listening for.

This still does not give you ANY right what so ever to abuse your text in the matter of which you did.

In this case, overuse of capital letters and explanation marks to try and get people' attention when all it does is get you into trouble.

If you want people to stop "acting" like you have offended someone, then stop abusing your text and be patient when posting topics considering you say that you know what it is like for no one to reply. Just because someone needs help that does not mean they are going to get it.

Now that's a helpful idea.Thanks man.I already made excel table of sounds I have identified(that's how I made a list here).I also backed everything up.Now your idea to make a special sound is great.I might either make a silence or a beep sound file which i'll just rename in @order to replace sounds I want to identify.I've noticed though that renaming a regular sound file(like renaming Fast 1 inot fast 3) actually causes the silence on the cars.Anyway thanks for the effort.

Sorry, i did not realize that proving a point with little if not no insults were given during any of the posts i have submitted into this topic and that somehow those posts became "threats". Me saying to LIVE that he will be reported if he keeps up the insults is none the less the right thing to do because it is mere harassment if he keeps it up.

 

If you want to give the whole "be careful what you say" speech to someone, it would be best to direct it at someone who has little intelligence on what they are doing and how they are doing it, other than on someone who is trying to help to some degree with not so much the topic at hand, but more or less the attitude towards people's expectations.

 

Now i suggest you start contributing to this topic before it gets reported and possibly locked, because at the moment it has become a spam session.

However, you've acknowledged that you may have overreacted, so I'll leave it at that. As for your previous post that I responded to, the needlessness of reigniting the bickering, which at that point had died down, annoyed me. I should say, though, that my comment about not believing that you would help if you could was in reference to this topic only, based on the preceding posts. I know that you have offered help and advice in other topics, so it was not my intention to paint you as a forum troll, merely to question your motives for continuing to post here. You are right that there's no excuse for the insults and name-calling and that no-one has come out of this particularly well, so let's hope this is an end to it.

 

One piece of advice that I would give you - which you can choose to take or ignore - is to ease back on the rule-quoting a little. You're perfectly entitled to point out when someone has broken the forum rules, whether you are a moderator or not, but it doesn't hurt to give people a little slack (unless they are repeat offenders), or to point out the forum rules whilst helping with the posters' original problems. Just quoting the rules can appear unfriendly and unhelpful, or even antagonistic.

@Erem: Thank you and i appreciate that you took in what i stated in my previous post instead of just skimming through it. I never intended to actually cause a scene and make a fuss about it and all, and i most likely will take that advice that you have made out.

 

I don't have a personal problem with anyone on this forum unless they REALLY bug me, and it takes a lot more than a immature disagreement (exhibit A being this one) for that to actually occur.
