*SCARY*Abandoned FunFair After The Katrina in New

Recommended Posts

cidamelo

Hi friends, did you know about that? I know Katrina happened some years ago, but this amusement park was abandoned after the hurricane, it's so scary, it's worst than Prypiat Funfair! It's strange since 2005 it is totally abandoned!

This is very scary, I'd be afraid to make a "tour" in a place like this!!

I feel so sorry for those poor people in New Orleans. I still remember seeing the footage of bodies floating face down in the flood waters.

Is the city actually a ghost town now? Do people still live there?

The Lolwut Pear yes the video seems to be shot by a professional!

Typhus, no, New Orleans is normal nowadays, I think. Mardi Gras happens every year. I think New Orleans is so interesting, it was so sad when Katrina arrived

I don't think it's scary, I think it's very depressing.. although that may just be because of Godspeed You! Black Emperor playing in the background tounge.gif

Prypiat still wins in my book, it has Rads, this doesn't...

What is with disasters and abandoned amusement parks?

However some of those grafities are very cleaver, especially liked the "Welcome 2 Zombie land kids" one...

Someone should build an amusement park in the middle of nowhere, open it for two days then leave it to rot... for study and vandalism reasons... you know...

Same here man, they attract some real f*cked up people, don't they?

Around these parts there's a man who dresses from head-to-toe in toilet paper (That's what people tell me) and he squats in an abandoned car-lot. Don't know how true the bog roll part is, but what I do know is that there's a shack filled with crazy writing on the wall. About 'coprophilia' and 'The Faecal God'.

Stuff like that makes abandoned places even worse, you just have no idea what kind of nutjob is lurking around.

That 2nd video was shot very well and the music was very appropriate, would have made a great location for a film.

And yes, Mr. Six is TeH Creepeh.

It really reminds me of Prypiat in the Ukraine. Somewhere I really must go next time I'm touring around Europe.

There's a bunch of people who do lots of urban desolation photography in the abandoned squats, tube stations and railway yards in London- they're called the Urban Desolation Collective I think. A couple of the guys who do it used to go to university with me when they started getting in on it and I went out there with them a few times. Abandoned railway sidings, covered in grafitti + broken glass, at dusk on a humid summers night = feeling like your in a horror film. Was f*cking cool, if a little creepy.

Yeah there was this really dirty hobo that used to live in a squat in an old club thats now demolished, when we went in there we found one room that he had made his toilet. Why didnt he just use the real toilet? Even if there was no water hooked up. sheesh. Other things Ive found include a restricted basement in an old csiro building that had radioactive warning stickers all over it, a hobo 'hotel' complete with a gin still hooked up, and a rubber anus sat on a officer chair surrounded by pages of pornos in one particular building. My favorite explorations have to be in NY though, theres nothing like looking out of a random broken window in an abandoned building to see a full million dollar shot of manhattan.

That place is pretty freaked and the second video was filmed really well!

It's a shame the whole park is going to go to waste, but I guess that sh*t happens sometimes.

Here's a website that shows a few cool abandoned cities/places.

That picture of Prypyiat is one of my favoruites of all time. My sister is an aspiring artist, and for my birthday present last year she offered to do me a full A1 canvas oil painting. Did I choose a beautiful London skyline, or something artistic?

No, I chose this shot of a dead city (of course with some dramatic interpretation, a darker day and Chernobyl lit up by floodlight:

I would imagine seeing everyone abandoning the Ukrainian City of Prypyiat.

Radiation can really harm someone. It doesn't give you superpowers.

If you do get a chance to go to Prypiat (you lucky SOB), I heard it's best if you go during winter/snowfall, since the radiation levels are lower. Plus, it will add some more to the creepiness factor.

They run tours of Prypiat. Apparently ambient radiation levels aren't that high and as long as you don't go kicking up dust clouds or touch anything metal you're fine.

OnePiece don't you get scared? Have you ever been to Six Flags New Orleans?

meta187 is like a pedophile I'm scared of him too.

dog_day_sunrise this image was my desktop image, I love Pripyat do you know Pripyat is featured on Call Of Duty 4? Prypiat will only be free of radiation in 900 years. wow.gif

Ferddy987 I'm really scared of radiation thanks God here in Brazil there's only 2 nuclear power plants (and they are not in my state barf8bd.gif )

How can people tour in Prypiat? Isn't it very very dangerous?

See my post above. Ambient atmospheric radiaton levels are very low, but radioactive dust still lingers, and some exposed material (metal, concrete ect) have become irradiated. It's relatively safe so long as you follow the instructions of the guide, don't take souviners or get covered in dust.

dog_day_sunrise I didn't know about that, but you know exactly what are the risks of the athmosperic radiation? It's because my family has a high rate of cancer, so anything like that would be dangerous for me sad.gif But I think I'd never go to Prypiat, I'm too scared for these things!!
