Modifying GTA San Andreas

I'm not sure where to post this, but i'm totally stuck on this,

I have GTA San Andreas v1, and my laptop is running Windows Vista,

In my GTA San Andreas User Files, there is a Gallery folder, User tracks folder, two DAT files, and a SAT file,

When I download a gamesave, (.b file), and load it in game, my game either crashes, or starts a new game

I would appreciate it so much if someone could help me

Make your game running compatibility mode Windows XP Service Pack 2

 

You can do it by right clicking on San Andreas shortcut or EXE > Properties > Compatibility > and select Windows XP Service Pack 2

Be sure your downloading the same version saves as your game.

If you actually have a version 2 game that you 'downgraded' to version 1 your game is still a version 2.

How are you playing:

1. With the Original DVD in the Drive?

2. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc?

3. Are you Using a No-CD program or crack?

4. OR a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPower.com

5. Other source? Please specify.

That's probably because you're downloading a save created with a different version of the game than yours.

 

Are you sure you have v1? Have you downgraded your game ever?

I had the same problem.

 

My game is originally v2, I downgraded it to v1. When I load a v1 savegame it doesn't work but when I loaded v2 savegame it works... I don't know why but try it

And my game is v1 because I play Multiplayer with it.

Don't Confuse things, again.

A Version 2 game will always be a Version 2 game.

Downgrading Only allows it Act like a Version 1 game for modding purposes.

IT is STILL a Version 2 game.
