Replaces the Jester

Time taken: i've lost track a bit on this one... about 6 months, with breaks for other models.

60303 polys, 111658 triangles (including wheel and ALL extras, kits and damage, also cols and shadow)

 

Latest News:

I have cracked the problem of wrong reflections on the bodykit, so i can now put everything back into 1 car.

i have also added some more details and fixed a few bugs.. still some things on the list of bits to complete, but its over 90% done now smile.gif

 

 

version 1.2 Now Released on GtaGarage!

Complete so far:

Saab 900 Turbo

* Full Carlsson bodykit option from "wheel arch angels"

* A huge number of extras and bodykit options including:

* Second set of bumpers *NEW*

* a few sets of foglights, (extras)

* roofrack, (extra)

* Toppola camper (roofscoop option),

* Griffin Stickers, (sideskirt option)

* rear-window louvre (spoiler option)

* Carlsson Spoiler (spoiler option)

* 2 extra exhausts

* uber-detailed interior

* moving petrol-cap door

* and lots more... too much stuff to list really, so download it and see for yourself tounge.gif

 

Still to do:

* Build engine (thats a big job) almost done now

* create damaged panels (another big job) i have started this bit now tounge.gif

* seat belts/rear-view mirror/handles on roof

* rear head-rests

* lock on boot lid

* add horn symbols to steering wheel

it was originally going to be standard with no extra stuff, but somebody suggested that the rear-window louvre should be a spoiler option, so i tried a few cars, and decided on the Jester..

 

seeing as the jester supports 2 sets of bumpers, 2 sideskirts, 2 spoilers, 2 roofscoops and more, i thought it was silly to just replace half of it, so i am working on building 2 full sets of kit for it.. i haven't decided what the second kit will be.. maybe a 1989 Carlsson kit with an uber-spoiler smile.gif

 

also, i am building lots of extras, some foglights, covers for the rear-vents, maybe a sunroof wind-deflector option, and a very silly extra that i will announce soon...

 

suggestions are always welcome tounge.gif

lol, thanks dude, i do plan to learn how IV works at some point, but to be honest, it looks like a nightmare, and my pc struggles to run it at 10fps sad.gif

 

when Monolithic Monstrosity (my machine) dies, and i have to upgrade, modding IV will be at the top of my list..

i had some crazy plans for skins, but i wasn't going to reveal them till later...

 

i was just posting a progress update when i got your reply, so here is the new stuff:

 

i have turned my original nasty curvy bodykit into a Carlsson kit, as it was a pretty similar shape, and needed tidying up:

i am much more pleased with the Carlsson kit, but need some ideas for the other kit, and for the roof scoops..

i saw the Toppola camper on a saab forum, and thought it had to go on as a ridiculous extra..

it will be every 6th or 7th car, so won't be too common in game...

 

 

i will probably make the plastic of the standard bumpers and "Turbo" side trim carcols compatible, as it doesn't quite work at the moment..

lots more done, i will post more pics tomorrow when more stuff is complete

the toppola was just crying out to be built, and its rare to be able to add such a big extra to a car...

i also have plans for some other crazy edits to this mod once the bodykit is all done

i was thinking of skinning it, but not too sure what to put on it? how about a massive Swedish flag? tounge.gif

i had and old SAAB many years ago, they have a very strange bonnet release on the car + it doesnt open like normal cars

haha, i have already thought of that.. but thanks for pointing it out.. its a nice detail icon14.gif

i have put the rotation point for the bonnet quite low down behind the front bumper, and it opens almost perfectly now smile.gif

it doesn't pop up at the front, but it does swing round to the right position...

 

i will post a pic of it open once i have finished the engine bay tounge.gif

 

 

my bro has this car I wish it is coming for gta iv

its just for san andreas for now, when i get a new pc, i will probably convert some of my mods to IV.

i have added more detail to the Carlsson bodykit, and have added a big Carlsson spoiler, also remade the side vents.

too late to post pics, but i will come back and update this topic tomorrow rolleyes.gif

Big Update:

the engine bay and wheel arches are now finished, i have tweaked all sorts of stuff, and tidied it up a bit.

Including a ridiculous amount of extras and mod garage options (and 4 wheels) it is 68k triangles biggrin.gif

 

i still have a few more things to build for it, but most of the big stuff is done (apart from the interior)

 

anyway, enough waffling, here is a pic of tonight's progress: tounge.gif

some more updates biggrin.gif

i did a long long night of work on the saab yesterday. it is now in game undergoing testing,

it is almost perfect, apart from one big bug that is driving me nuts: panic.gif

 

all the "wheel arch angels" bodykit options are too dark and seem to be more shiny than the objects using the same material that are part of the car sad.gif

i have tried everything to fix it - different env-map textures, different specular settings, all to no avail.

 

if anybody could help me fix this problem, it would be much appreciated, as it looks a bit silly with bodykit on at the moment.

 

i haven't mapped a texture onto the body yet, its just the jumbled mess of unmapped stuff that zmodeler leaves, but the issue only affects all the stuff outside the jester dff file (spoilers, side skirts, bumpers etc)

 

everything does have 2 UV channels, and there is a whilte texture on channel 1, and an auto-sphere env-map on channel 2. i will try to map a reflection properly onto it all too, but thats a job for another day...

 

anyway here are some pics.

the first shows the bodykit material bug (it looks much worse normally. this pic doesnt really do it justice)

the rest of the pics have enb series running. i will post some normal ones later..

If I remember correctly, you shall add _shiny at all tuneable parts, as the new bodykits, but where.....cant remmber if it was in the heiracly or in the material editor, try both.

 

Looks great even with the bug!

Possibly the best car mod for SA, especially because of all the extras it's epic! Oh and please do a Vauxhall (opel) Corsa for IV tounge.gif

i am working on more extras at the moment, i plan to replace everything that the standard jester can be modded with, so its a huge amount of bits to build,

but its almost there now.. apart from the problem i mentioned above.. i haven't got round to fixing it yet, as i had an explosion and a small fire in my PC yesterday panic.gif

 

anyway, i plan to do a few more hours on the Saab tonight, and might release a Beta version soon..

 

what sort of corsa do you mean? the old boxy one? (it was called a Nova in the UK) i do plan to build one of those, but i don't have a complete blueprint yet..

if you find one, fire it my way, and i will build it smile.gif (i don't like the new curvy corsas though, they're nasty)
