Mass Effect 3

I have absolutely no problem with Bioware doing an MP orientated Mass Effect after Mass Effect 3 (I won't buy it mind you but hey they want to squeeze another mp game onto the market that is their problem). However including an MP mode with Mass Effect 3 in my mind is a waste of time and money. If they have extra resources I would much rather they poured them into the single player experience.

 

Bioware hasn't confirmed or denied that this is a teaser for Mass Effect 3. The only "official" word we have had on this teaser is from SCEE Russia that tweated the teaser in the Spike trailer was Mass Effect 3.

So because Mass Effect 2 required two DVDs they're going to make the switch because of logistics? Yeah, no. Even if that were the case you still have the PC which has direct download (no DVDs at all) and the ability to install stuff on HDDs.

if it is in the mass effect universe then i think it will be after the discovery of the mass effect gate on mars! i only say this because if the weapon seen in the picture is infact an early version of the ones in mass effect then they have to use mass effect fields in order to fire there rounds. Witch would suggest that it takes place after they have accesed the mass effect gate!

good point, but i would have thought that on downloadable games theres a certain limit on the ammount of GB a game can be due to the varying download speed across the world?

I wouldn't worry about Mass Effect 3 being exclusive to either console, that isn't going to happen they have spent too much time and energy just getting out of one exclusivity deal to just enter another one with Sony. The more worrying scenario to me is exclusive extra content for one platform and f*ck all for the other platforms (similar to the bullsh*t 2K pulled with Mafia 2).

 

On another note some are still speculating about what this new IP is, this guy claims he has sources that told him :-

 

 

Mass Effect (2.5?) is to be announced at the VGAs. My source tells me it was originally planned to be released as DLC but soon ballooned to a size that was worthy of a full retail release to tide us Mass junkies over until 3 comes out at some undisclosed time. I don’t have a problem with the idea but we all saw what happened with Halo ODST – Sure it was entertaining but it felt like it should have been nothing more than a $15 DLC or perhaps multiple downloadable chapters. This will happen Dec 11.

Make of that what you will, it sounds sorta plausible it has been a while since we have seen any DLC for ME 2 and we are unlikely to see any till well after the PS3 version of ME 2 has been released.

I get updates on my facebook for Mass Effect 2. The profile picture for these updates is the grunt with the ME2 rifle from the teaser, so it's got to be ME2 related and not a new IP or ME3.

 

So far ME2 has a GS of 1255, that leaves it 245 short of the magic 1500. I'm expecting more DLC to make up the numbers, and this is probably what Bioware are teasing.

It is a picture of a erm "Red Herring" so have all these QR codes been red herrings ? is it a clue that there are actually red herrings in the lakes of the Presidium ? We don't have much longer to wait that is for sure, the 11th is but 5 days away and we will hopefully find out what the f*ck all these QR codes really meant.

With 2 days to go till the big reveal at the Spike awards it seems Bioware's cast iron grip on reality information is loosening. A new screenshot has been leaked :-

The US source that leaked the image to CVG told us: "I won't spoil it for everyone by telling you what the game is. But it's going to have a lot of hardcore BioWare fans jumping out of their seats."

 

That actually gave me butterflies.

 

But anyway, having somebody in your scope doesn't mean you're going to shoot them as the article suggests. Even more excited now...

Well, it seems it will be ME related, which indeed has me jumping outta my seat thinking of that. I am not into the COD's or any FPS multiplayer (except L4D), but throw it into a ME-universe.. I'm already getting my money ready... But it looks intriguing regardless of what it is, BioWare knows what they're doing.

The picture shows some chick running in front of the chick in the scope touching a downed person. Fallout VATS? Mass Effect: New Citadel anyone? Honestly, I don't want this to be Mass Effect related. I'm hoping for a brand new BioWare juggernaut that will be right next to Mass Effect, and give me a reason to like a company more than Bethesda.

Three words in and I let out an audible "Goddammit". Why the f*ck did I read that? Hopefully that'll be the premise of the game that gets given by Bioware as what to expect (you know the usual in-development synopsis that doesn't give much away). Although to be fair, I'm pretty sure everyone thought that the latter part of the quote would make up the majority of the next game anyway.

 

Now that this is all but confirmed, all I want them to tell us is an expected release window. End of next year or early 2012 would be great.

I think they could have been a bit less specific in it though, but I am not going to pull a hissy fit on it. To be honest that is exactly what I want in the final instalment of ME 3 . Apparently they have just pulled the description from the EA Store so you can't see it now, but the word is out
