It's been confirmed that ME3 will have 40,000 lines of dialogue

Let's hope the dialogue isn't going to take over everything else.

Okay now that multiplayer is somewhat confirmed, something occurred to me. There is a possibility that ME3 might suck.

Something in me tells me that there would be fewer dialogue scenes than the previous games. I'm sure you can talky-talky with your Squad on the Normandy but what else? Seems like EA wants the franchise to turn into a permanent shooter. The previews we've seen so far is all shoot-shoot and the dialogue scenes they show us only had like two options of dialogue. No more 'Investigate'.

I could be wrong though. Paps, since you're the ONLY person here to have played it so far, experienced any dialogue scenes during your time at the expo?

Yeah, it'd be awful if, say, Garrus only had one line which he would repeat over and over and over again.

The remaining 20,000 lines are "Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations" in an entirely different, not-New Jersey accent.

There was no dialogue wheel options in the build I played. It's a tiny segment of the game, though. Wrex talks to you though, as he's keeping the attack ships occupied, which was badass.

That ain't gonna happen. The voice actor talks in that voice all the time, apparently:

Well it seems like the rumours have now been confirmed. An Aussie Mag has confirmed that Mass Effect 3 WILL HAVE multiplayer.

It was pretty obvious that this was going to happen with the way Bioware kept being so "evasive" and twisting their statements. Personally I can see it dying a big fat death like nearly all multiplayer modes that get shoe horned into primarily single player games.

This also means in all probability that Mass Effect 3 will use Origin (since it now contains MP). I have to say Bioware really do seem to be going out of their way to put me off getting this game.

Well, me too. f*ck.

From the Omni-Blades to now this multiplayer news, something about those just put me off. We have to accept there's a probability that Mass Effect 3 might suck.

Half of me can't wait to get this and the other half doesn't want to be disappointed.

f*ck you EA and f*ck you Bioware. I will buy Mass Effect 3, but it will be the last game I ever bought from EA and Bioware.

f*ck, I'm buying this used and f*ck any "dlc" that comes with it. Bioware wants to sell out then it's thier funeral, I won't be buying any bioware game after this. oh lord, i have to tell me sister about this.....(hides previous bioware games).

Oh my goodness.

It has multiplayer.

This is the worst thing ever.

You know, I never knew the equation rpg + multiplayer = terrible was completely legit.

Have any of your considered that the multiplayer might be good?

Or.

That the multiplayer will not affect the singleplayer?

This is not the end of the world. Wait. Try it out. And then pass judgment on your experience.

But remember, it is your experience that you are judging, not the actual game.

Personally, I think multiplayer could be cool if done right and I shall be getting it for Playstation now to play it for free.

Sadly that means I'll have to get ME 2 now for Playstation as well.

Oh shoot, I'll have to play it again.

We're a bunch of cynical bastards. Wise words don't mean much to us. I wish I was being ironic, but I really hate that a perfectly good single player franchise is being butchered with a multiplayer hacksaw. Or should I say with a multiplayer Omni-blade.

This is gonna turn out like chainsaws in gears of war isnt it.

There is no shadow of a doubt now that Mass Effect 3 will feature multiplayer. It has just been announced via Twitter :-

http://twitter.com/#!/masseffect/statu...440240147955712

ME3 will have a multiplayer option - we'll have more details in the coming days that will address your concerns!

Along with the twitter post was a link to OXM which is "officially" announcing the said feature no f*cker cares about :-

http://www.oxmonline.com/oxm-december-issu...t-3-multiplayer

I am just waiting for confirmation that ME 3 will use Origin and that will be my pre-order cancelled. I can put up with multiplayer because I can ignore it and never use the sorry arse feature but there is no way on this planet am I allowing that malware spyware called Origin on my PC.

I'm just wondering if the multiplayer feature is strictly co-op or something else?

Because the tagline of that PCPowerPlay mag is suggesting that it's gonna be co-op based only.

I fear for the single player campaign now because of this. From the sound of things, the mutiplayer aspect doesn't seem to be even a big thing after all(maybe just a few co-op missions?) so why place it in there in the first place? oh wait, they are probaly trying to attract the gears of war crowd.

I'm still going to wait and see though. If it's as bad or worse as I have thought then I'll just ignore this game and sell the other two. The problem is, I'll probaly won't find out until the game is released because bioware keeps playing the same damn level over and over again.

I still didn't tell my sister, I'm waiting til i can hide my stuff.

I'm still playing ME2. So I haven't had time to read up on 3 and possibly grow a resentment for it. As such, I will be getting the game with a smile. But some of you seem perturbed.

The sooner they do it the better, then.

Seriously, the whinging in this topic over a feature in an unreleased game is disturbing, to say the least. Having played it, I can safely say I'm not worried in the slightest. Have some faith.

Every topic in Gaming Chat has some PC user crying over anything and everything. How do you lot game? you seem to boycott just about everything.

As long as they don't mess around with anything to do with the campaign by adding any form on multiplayer then i can't see any problems. Although it sounds to me that it may just be co-op multiplayer and not exactly the team deathmatch sort. I think co-op story will be pretty cool (if it's included that is), it would be nice to have a couple of human squad mates every now and again instead of AI.

I would agree with that. Especially after this:

Executive Producer @CaseyDHudson says it best regarding the multiplayer component: "Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared"

I've got no problem with MP. I'd prefer vs over co-op - co-op gets old quick. Best would be if they had both.

How would exactly co-op work? It couldn't be included in the main story because it's a game about Shepard. So a co-op would have to be a set of missions specifically designed for co-op, like in Splinter Cell: Embarrassment.

The second player would be a squadmate?

Makes sense no? I mean, apart from the in-game decision I dont see why it would be a problem.

Because Shepard is the one who makes all the decisions. He's in charge, he's the center of everything. It wouldn't work. Who would want to play as a squad mate that just does stuff for the big cheese? When I play video games I like to play as the hero of the story, not as a glorified butler.

if it's co-op, I'm thinking it will be a set of missions while on earth during the time when shepard does his/her thing.

It's Co-Op Missions, so no main story parts included in the MP at all.

We can officially confirm that there will be a multiplayer feature in Mass Effect 3. However, please reserve your appraisal until we are able to give more information. Our Executive Producer Casey Hudson says it best: "Yes, co-op MP missions for ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon..."

Tune in for a special BioWareTV episode at 10AM on Wednesday October 12th to have all your questions answered!
