If it's a CoD type game I'll take back what I said earlier sbout those people not knowing who BioWare is. I'm cautious to say it but a multiplayer shooter set in the ME universe could be pretty cool. It could be set in the First Contact war or at some point in Saren's command of the geth.

 

Still holding out for ME3 though, even though an MMORPG would be amazing. I can't run an MMO reliably due my uni internet being completely and utterly bollocks.

I'm so, so, so hoping that the game will utilize a few of the functions found Star Wars: Battlefront II and Battlefield 2 and won't just be Call of Duty with Mass Effect textures. I'd like a game that requires a tiny bit of thinking and teamwork, rather than mindless running and gunning.

 

And I can see RPG purists/Bioware die-hard fans sh*tting themselves over this just like they did with ME2 (an RPG isn't about having a sh*tty inventory system, it's about character progression btw).

bit dissapointed now TBH if that is true! why do companys try and emulate games that are on the market allready! but it may attract more of a following if done right but i aint holding my breath now! if they keep the mass effect powers in seems to me like it will be a nasty mash up of different games COD ME and Bioshock 2! and we all know what happens to games like that!

The setting of the Mass Effect universe seems a bit unnecessary in a game supposedly catered to the COD crowd. This, seeing as that particular group of caterwauling moppets have little interest in fantasy settings, while the ardent Mass Effect players will have little interest in playing a fps. The middle ground of the two camps who would be interested in such a game seems rather limited compared to the mass market EA would be hoping to capture with this.

 

At least BioWare aren't being overworked, poor sods.

The very reason Bioware is great is because they DON'T cator the FPS crowd... We have enough mindless shooters out their. We don't need a company that excells at story RPGs to add to it.

The facial structure is clearly different. The jawline, cheeks, and nose especially. The hairlines are totally different too.

Dead Space 2 is going for a combination, and that combination already seems to be putting people off.

I hope ME3 wont have multiplayer. MP always means that SP will suffer in some way. So if this MP game means that ME3 wont have it then I'm all for it even if it sucks. Actually maybe it would be better for everyone if their MP game sucks because they'll focus more on making SP games and they wont switch to MP like the rest of the freaks.

Well that's your opinion. I thought GTA IV was one of the most boring games I've ever played. Their so called realism and lack of fun features ruined all the single player experience completely. Not to mention that I didn't care for the story or characters one bit. That's how interesting they all were.

Oh wait, he was a psychotic nutjob whose only redeeming factor was that he was practically a carbon copy of Tony Montana minus the whole Cuban thing. I can understand not liking GTAIV, it was my favorite GTA game by far, but I know a sh*tload of people don't share that opinion; but why the tit-f*cking Christ do you f*ckers feel the need to bash IV at every corner, you're just like those c*nts who insult Halo at every turn for no reason other than self gratification. Give it a rest.

 

I'm kind of on the fence about whether the multiplayer component should be a part of ME3. On one hand it means more resources dedicated to ME3 over some action-centric side-project, but on the other hand it might end up cheapening the entire singleplayer experience as a whole, since most "balance" developers do to games for multiplayer get transferred to the single player component of the game in one way or another.

I suppose I agree. I thought GTAIV was incredibly intriguing, and had depth and personality in place of random "fun" sh*t. I too can understand why someone may not like it (no I don't like the occassional man-dates so I can get free taxi rides), just please don't get pissed off because there is "nO cUstOMiZAbLe carz, nigga!!!!" I have the GTA section of the forums completely ignored so this has been probably beaten to death multiple times

Couldn't give a toss about online multiplayer, honestly. Haven't really played any online multiplayer in quite a while but I mostly blame that on my made-of-piss internet connection. If it's there, cool. If not I won't lose any sleep.

i would welcome 3 player co-op mass effect would fit the game pretty well, and it would help me convert some of my friends to play mass effect, the fact it has no multiplayer/coop is holding them back from getting it! no matter how much i convince them! i mean cummon it didnt win 2 awards for nothing!

I believe BW has enough competence not to f*ck up a game by simply adding MP. I'm sure that ME, being the cash cow that it is, would get enough funds to make an SP mode just as good as the ones we've had so far and an MP mode that doesn't totally suck.

 

It would be sweet if this mystery game was ME3, but BW has explicitly stated that it isn't, right?
