Was anybody watching the Gamespot live stream when that guy asked Casey Hudson about Elcor husks?

I haven't seen the Gamespot stream other than the little bit about skill, but I remember that from the IGN stream yesterday.

The demo on that link I posted didn't show any new footage. But they did answer a few questions. One of them was PC specs. They're aiming at similar if not the same specs of Mass Effect 2. Not really surprising. You can't make a game look much better with UT3 engine than it did in ME2.

I have never played DA2, but I wouldnt mind karma points for my squadmates. If it means different dialouge if they are Paragon or Renegade then f*ck yeah!

Actually the leveling up system is quite different from both ME1 and ME2. You have 6 skill levels and when you gain a level you can of course chose which skill to upgrade. But it goes beyond that because you can chose how you want to upgrade it. For example if you want to upgrade one of your biotic powers you can chose if you want to upgrade it's duration, damage, radius etc. You couldn't chose to do that in previous ME games. You could only chose which skill to upgrade, not how to upgrade it. So it's a deeper system.

Just read Gamespot preview and I'm loving this piece of info.

 

 

Shepard's omni-tool has also changed so that it's not just for hacking robots or stealing credits. Depending on which class you play, the device will have a new ability for you to use. As a soldier, our omni-tool came equipped with a short blade designed to relieve an enemy's guts from his body.

LOL I don't think Bioware is stupid enough to bring DA2 into this. Imagine the sh*tstorm if people start thinking DA2 was better YIKES!

The Milky Way? We'll be able to visit other galaxies? I thought we were done with that after Omega-4 or whatever the last mission in ME2 was called. That's pretty cool.

Don't get your hopes up about visiting different Galaxies, there is every chance that Milky Way text is just place holder text I am afraid. It would be nice idea mind you but don't expect it.

It starts off with old footage then about 20 secs in you get to see combat in some different areas. There are no real spoilers but once again you watch it at your own risk.

You'd imagine they'd have the name of the planetary systems down by now. You're probably right, but a man can dream.

 

Loved Shep beating the living hell out of a guy with his weapon, heh. Not much ambient sound going at this point in the development. Sounds a bit empty, doesn't it? It really makes you appreciate the sound work that goes in to games. TV too, for that matter. If anyone has seen the shooting of a TV show the first thing you'll notice is the sound. Good stuff.

the paragorn and renegade bars are just a bug apperently, it just doesn't go away even when you enter "liara" or whoever.

 

(according to the interview they are doing right now)

Ugh I'm having the worst ME1 playthrough of my life. I currently have only Kaidan, Liara and Tali in my squad. I did not recruit Garrus and Ashley anf Wrex died in Virmire.

 

And I'm a Vanguard so there's no one who can use Assault Rifles in my squad now!

 

 

Hey you guys think that the ME2 anomaly missions will have any impact in ME3? Because I'm too lazy ass to go through all that.

That is essentially all the ingame footage they showed this year at E3. I have just checked and all 4 videos are still up on Youtube so they should work.

 

Meanwhile Christina Norman did an interesting tweet last night. She suggested that squad mates may not work exactly the same way as they did in ME 1 and ME 2. Not quite sure what that is supposed to mean but can't wait to find out.

Yeah, don't do what I did. Just met Garrus in ME2, there's only a slight change of the dialouge. Bullsh*t, did not recruit Garrus in ME1 just for that encounter.

About different galaxies, yeah odds are that's a place holder, even though it'd be awesome to go to a different galaxy and see what's out there.

 

Oh also someone (foregot the name sorry) said that the Omega 4 relay took you out side the milky way, I only though it took you to the center of the galaxy. (You know the chewy Nugget center full of black holes)

 

Anyhow thanks to Charlie and everyone who’s posting news and footage, makes me more exited every time I wonder in here.

Nope but they are going to shove that bullsh*t in there whether we want it or not. The fact that we can't get Bioware to use the two letters "N" and "O" in any sentence regarding multiplayer pretty much says to me they are tacking on an MP mode.

I hope they don't. It will seriously f*ck up the game. People that play Mass Effect are RPG fans and they play it for the SP story. Not many people will buy ME3 if they didn't play the previous 2 games. And if they do, they won't buy it for the multiplayer. And people who did play ME1 and ME2 will buy ME3 anyway, so they don't need MP as a selling point AT ALL. If anything, MP will make some people believe that Bioware didn't invest their full capacity in SP mode which can result in cancellation on pre-orders until they're sure the game doesn't suck. Or maybe that's just me.

 

They should just stick with the single player and if they really want to cash-in on ME later, they can always make more games based on ME universe. Just let us have our trilogy unspoiled.

I 100% agree with GTAvanja, multiplayer is totally unnecessary for the game, and like he said, might lead people to think they didn't invest all they could into single player.

 

I honestly hope they don’t add it as it's unnecessary and well rather stupid IMO as people who are buying Mass Effect 1 2 and 3 are here for the story line and RPG mechanics, though if they do it's not like we're required to play co-op.

Damn I was actually wishing for co-op in the next game but now that I'm hearing about it, I am a no-no on this. It will be just weird.

Well Bioware seem to be sticking their fingers in their ears and going "la la la la la la la" at the moment and refusing to confirm or deny MP in Mass Effect 3. If you ask me that is pretty much confirmation there will be MP in Mass Effect 3, but nowt we can do about it except laugh when it dies a quick death.

 

Anyway on another note the voice actress that does Liara (Ali Hillis) has done an interview, it is a nice read. There aren't really any ME 3 spoilers in it but just to be on the safe side if you are likely to have a heart attack finding out that Liara wears red panties instead of black panties in ME 3 then don't click the link :-

Well did they say the co-op missions will be separate from the single-player story. Kinda like IV's co-op missions. Which I still hate.

 

I can't get why they didn't just make a spinoff for that co-op part.

 

Oh and about that Liara interview, damn I didn't knew she had a part in Final Fantasy and Starcraft. Plus she joke about using Kinect with some romantic involvement with you-know-who. Heh heh.
