[WHAT!?]

My own personal view with regard to what is going to happen with TIM and Cerberus in ME 3 is that it all comes down to TIM's goal, he wants humanity to survive no matter what. Nearly everything Cerberus does is for the "greater good" if 3 billion have to die to safe guard the greater good of humanity then TIM feels that is a price worth paying. I can easily see TIM making a deal with the Reapers thinking he can control them and they will honour their deal. Sure TIM may allow the Reapers to attack Earth as long as it does not hurt the greater good.

 

It is even possible that TIM has some sort of Cryogenic project where he has a selection of humans in hiding somewhere (similar to what the Protheans did with Ilos) and he actually WANTS the Reapers to succeed and wipe out humanity and every other sentient alien in the galaxy. Then when the Reapers sod off for another 50,000 years good ole TIM and his hidden human subjects will have the galaxy virtually empty of any opposition. Remember TIM thinks long term here, if he believes we can't beat the Reapers then he will look for a way to turn a negative into a positive.

 

That or he is indoctrinated or just plain off his head whacko, either way I am looking forward to the moment Shep shoves the guy out of the nearest airlock.

The Ilos idea is really interesting. I hadn't considered it from that view point. Makes sense though.

There is an interesting Q&A session up on Game Informer involving the lead writer Mac Walters. I wouldn't say it contains any major spoilers but there are some interesting bits in it, especially about Conrad :-

 

 

Well, it may have been a glitch, or maybe Conrad was just having an off day (even more off than usual). Stay tuned in Mass Effect 3 to see how Verner deals with this embarrassing misstep with Shepard.

I think it was Charlie that said something happens at the start of the game that makes them chase you, regardless of previous choices.

I do remember... there is a side mission in ME2, the name of the planet escapes me right now but you recover compromising information about Cerberus. Information that documents the experiments Sheppard found Cerberus preforming in ME1. You can choose to keep the info for yourself, upload to Cerberus, or upload to the Alliance. It is possible by the time the 3rd game has come around the info is somehow leaked and Sheppard is blamed.

 

There is also a mission where you grab encrypted information from an Eclipse mining facility. The information is never decrypted before the game ends and it remains in EDI's possession.

 

Just pure speculation on my part though.

I'm looking through the screenshots and I have realized something. Where's Shepard's heavy weapons? Will grenades make a return?

I wouldn't take that as a 100% certainty, I read the PSM3 scans and I got to be honest the thing was littered with inaccuracies. They have a box talking about James Sander and they are saying he is the sniper in the bBg Ben (Bioware has confirmed he is NOT the sniper in Big Ben.

Ah the eternal situation of EA/Bioware neglecting femshep in their marketing campaign. Unfortunately the figures are not with us, only 35% of Mass Effect players use a femshep . At the end of the day though I imagine everyone considers their Shepard THE Shepard. I think this is one of the great things about ME it has a character WE created and makes it feel so much more personal. I really wish more games would take this route where we design the character we play.

 

On another note if ME 3 is being released on 8th November that means we have exactly 200 days left, not that I am counting whatsoever

some people I've heard only ever play Soldier/Sole Survivor. Very limiting, in my opinion.

Sole Survivor? Really? I thought War Hero was everyone's favourite option.

 

Being a Sole Survivor is boring because well...it makes you neutral.

Guess it must be appealing in that way, and also that it's the 'default' along with Earthborn.

Do them 3 choices even make a difference? the only time i can remember them options coming up in dialogue was right at the beginning of ME1 and then a side mission on the Citadel also in ME1.

oh god I think I've made all those exact choices for every playthrough I've done except one, where I made a black Adept and named him Lando.

Apart from convos, the Psych profiles give boosts to Paragon/Renegade scores.

 

It's the background choices which give unique quests (and also P/R boosts)

 

Colonist/Sole Survivor = neutral. Quest: I Remember Me.

 

Spacer/War Hero = Paragon. Quest: Lt Zabaleta

 

Earthborn/Ruthless = Renegade. Quest: Old Friends

Part of me wants them to show Tali's/Quarian faces, but I'd also like if it remained a mystery.

 

And apparently we're visiting the Salarian home-world, but what about the other unknown ones? Females being the obvious mystery there, tho I don't much care and am far more interested in the worlds themselves.

I don't like the Alliance meddling with the Normandy. BioWare statements to the contrary, it *is* Shephard's ship, dagnabbit. It's a private vessel that belongs to a dead person. Not an Alliance marine. Just as long as they haven't hacked, info-drained and shackled EDI, I won't be too pissed off. Buuuut they'll probably have done that.
