Well that's sad that he got banned , could've had much more info.

 

But now we should get back to this as Vice IV has many problems now , that's why im not releasing yet, and for the most part it's caused by scripts (.sco files normally) so if we can't compile empty scripts all work might be gone to waste.

 

And sorry to bump a month old topic, but this is really an exception and i had to post this.

So you just want some scripts not to run? No need to recompile them empty, you can simply abort them/hook the script start.

Nah, we want to add our own scripts too smile.gif and not just with a scripthook, but by really creating a sco file.

Hmm, GTARandom states clearly he wants to compile empty scripts ("so if we can't compile empty scripts") to avoid some problems.

So, guys? Anyone contacted Dageron yet? I believe he had a website with LCS conversions long time ago and his email was there. Someone hook up Russian language on translator and contact him, ask him about the sco compiler he was working on.

That way I can enter the chopper without having to use FPS to record a video at 30 fps.

It's still in an early beta stage and it can't compile every script yet sad.gif

This looks great. I cant wait till its finished. But I have a request

Are you able to make blank scripts that just have a spawn for Vice IV and maybe a car for us to use. The sco scripts which are desined to be ran on IV's map crash in Vice IV. Im hoping that that will fix most of the crashes in Vice IV. I heard there caused by the SCO scripts for IV. Id realy apreaceate it.

Is coding for IV easy?

Is it like it was for III,VC and SA?

Is it the same as doing .asi or .net?

Do you clear out IV's script?

Will savegames that work with the normal game work with this? If not than that may be prob. I hope you will be able to make it look for saved games in a different place for that script.

Are you able to release the script for Vice IV? I hope that it would make it more stable.

 

Sorry about all the questions but Im just wondering. This looks awsome. Also Shadow-Link you are awsome too. You brought mapping and script coding to IV. Keep it up man.

One other thing.

Do you know what file was used to change the height limmit for the helicopters in The Ballad of Gay Tony? In The Ballad of Gay Tony it is 2x higher than in Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned. I was thinking that it could be in one of the SCO files because its one of the only file types we have left to learn alot about.

Thnx gamerzworld. The source is hell ugly, even I get lost in it a lot sad.gif really got to clean it up before even thinking about open sourcing it.

 

nkjellman, that might be hardcoded, don't think that's in the sco files. But it might be in one of the many other files we can't open yet tounge.gif there are a lot of files that we can't open smile.gif

 

Edit: Got a clean scripts.img file working with only startup.sco that contains a player spawn smile.gif

How does that clean SCO file work with Vice IV? Also I think we may need a Limmit adjuster to change the height limmit like in VC and SA. That most likely aplyes to GTA 3 aswell but no one has come out with a limmit adjuster for GTA 3. GTA 3 has a realy low height limmit thats why the dodo does not go that far.

Clean script works fine with Vice IV. Still some random craches, but those can't really be caused by the script.

 

What has a gta 3 limit adjuster has to do with this? tounge.gif And GTA III had a perfect height limit, never had much trouble flying the dodo up a building or mountain for that matter tounge.gif

Because I was saying that the old gta games had data for the height limmit in the exe and that may be the same for IV. But on topic does the startup script.img desable some crashes. Is the game more stable than with the normal script.img?
