I'm a fan of Aaron Eckhart and although this most definitely won't be a movie that gives you Oscar worthy performances, the action looks pretty damn good. Plus, I'm into alien invasion flicks. I want aliens to win this one. Otherwise it's no different than the rest of alien invasion movies where a bunch of nobodies manage to save Earth. Yeah, I'm looking at you Independence Day. Although, the very first trailer for Skyline looked promising and it turned out to be a gigantic piece of sh*t. I hope this one is as good as it looks from the trailers. I also feel that humans overcoming the invasion will make it suck. Primarily due to the utter destruction shown in the trailers. It doesn't look like we'd be able to harm them without destroying ourselves. It'll feel too forced and unbelievable if we fight them off. Also, looks to be all mechanical/robot things fighting. I like that take on it, as humans have already figured that using machines in space travel and warfare is completely viable and even for us doable at least on a small scale. Moth Posted March 14, 2011 Share Posted March 14, 2011 So did anyone else go see this movie? It came out on Friday. I went to see it earlier today and I enjoyed the movie. Though at times it was predictable. You knew who was going to die the moment you say them. Like the boy's father, who died after saving the doctor from the aliens. Plus the lieutenant dying, by blowing himself up to buy time and destroy this robotic horse looking thing with rockets, was easy to figure out. He dies in flames of glory to save the squad/company/ small band of marines. The ending was the humans winning after figuring it out that these floating command centers that aliens were using was their weakest link. I would recommend that you guys go see it, except for GTAvanja, because it felt like a more realistic Independence Day, it aint that realistic.
