Cl3arSky
I got a e6500 and a gt 220 (1gb vram ddr2) + 2 gb ram. Gta RUNS find on med (can go on high too) But on med is smooth and good, but after some time, either it FREEZES a bit then after few secs it freezes completly (Gotta alt tab / reboot), earlier it happened again but this time the radar and everything turned squarish (Looking like some bad glitchy graphic) Then I had to alt tab and shut it. The card's not getting HIGH temperatures and the game uses only like 300 - 400 out of it, which is 1000 so I have no bloody idea.. At first I was using the latest driver, which if I am not mistaken was crashing more often and the fps was lower. Earlier I've installed 197.45_desktop_winxp_32bit_english_whql, which seemed to have improved my FPS and crash less. Well the only crash since then was this one earlier (Squarish one) So is there any fix?? OR anything please? Could it be the driver? THe gpu runs fine = tf2 / bf2 etc run alright on max with no glitches or anything. I've the steam version = in game comunity on / xfire in game chat on (Doubt any of those causes the freezes tho) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/462870-gta-iv-freezes-after-some-time/ Share on other sites
mkey82
Try using memrestrict GT220 is not made for gaming, you'll want to tone down settings a bit. Even tho' gt220 is not a gaming card the freezing is weird as it runs alright Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/462870-gta-iv-freezes-after-some-time/#findComment-1060199202 Share on other sites
Cl3arSky
Ok. it still happened after a while. It froze then I couldn't even open ctrl alt delete on some 000000000 error, had to reboot, also the graphics on desktop went nuts like it would have been on safe mode. I think it's driver related, because with the first driver it was happening often, with the one I mentioned I'm using now It lasted longer, any idea what driver to get? [email protected]
I have the same problem. After playing some time the game freez and computer restarts without any error message. And it currupts my graphics driver. Whole screen looks like in safe mode. I've tried a lot with other ATI drivers.nothing worked. I have, ATI Readon HD 5450 Series (1GB) graphics card. Plz, help.
