juanma_16
Hi everybody, like the Title says, my GTA SA slows down after around 10 minutes of play. My PC specs are: Intel DualCore 2200 2 GB Ddr2 GeForce 8500GT 512 mb. Windows 7 32b Oviously I play with High details, Anti-alising, no frame-rate limit and res 1024x768 at less. I can run newer games like GTA IV (low graphics), PES2011 (high), Splinter Cell 2, NFS UC. And play for hours without any problem, but with GTA SA after some minutes it slows down even more. The strange thing is when I loose and reload the game again the speed is ok again!!? This is tedious cause it's dificult to do long missions like Taxi or Ambulance. Anyone have an idea to help me? Thanks! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/462834-sa-slows-down-after-some-minutes-of-play/ Share on other sites
lil weasel
Newer games use the computers resourses better. So you can't compare new games with old. Are you playing the game in W98/XP mode, with Administrative Privileges? And... before people here begin investing a lot of time trying to fix a possible NO-FIX situation: How are you playing: 1. With the Original DVD in the Drive? 2. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc? 3. Are you Using a No-CD program or crack? 4. OR a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPower.com 5. Other source? Please specify. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/462834-sa-slows-down-after-some-minutes-of-play/#findComment-1060198514 Share on other sites
juanma_16
lil weasel: Thanks for the answer. - I'm playing with administrative privileges. - My GTA DVD isn't original - I'm playing with a no-CD crack Other things: - When i installed the game at first and clicked in the icon, the game didn't started. So i opened the task manager and finished the gta_sa.exe. Then i clicked again and it worked! But with a reduced FPS, so i minimized the game and opened the task mgr again and just for instinct i disabled the rundll32 (it was using the 40% of CPU). Then i maximized the game and it was working perfectly. Now, it doesn't happend anymore, the game runs from the start with max FPS (and after minutes it slows down). - SRT3 1.7 installed - Some cars, wheels and tuning parts installed (I've created a IMG file called 'VEHICLES.img' where i add the cars .dff and .txd, and renamed the originals in default gta3.img) - New great effects 1.6 installed to. - Some CLEO mods installed to. In addition to the above problem (slowing down) the game crashes randomly after some minutes of play. I've heard and read this is a common problem among the GTA users. Isn't it? Well, that's all. Thank you again. Buy the game and if you still face any issue, we will be more than happy to help you.
