Here is one I made for my Paradise City concept thread over 2 years ago. It was conveniently inspired by a sort of Californian region as well

 

Nice one. The idea of having the desert close to sea still bugs me (like Las Venturas from GTASA), but the work on the city and towns is very noticeable.

I had a dream that I got GTA V recently. This is a very rough sketch how the map looked like (I don't remember most of it):

Basically, there was Los Santos on an island in a giant lake. Los Santos itself was actually a mix of some other cities, as I remember seeing a row of San Francisco-like houses. The graphics were kinda poor, but every single building was enterable, every house had a unique inhabitant with unique name. I also remember riding through a road that looked strikingly similar to the overpass near East Hook in Liberty City.

The rest of the map was a vaguely Asian setting and it wasn't waterlocked. There were two unnamed cities, and I remember that the southeast corner was called "Kha Kram". It was all bigger than this map makes seem, with lots of small towns, mountains and rice fields.

but i would really like this if the map ends in more desert rather than the ocean.Also the map should be bigger.

i have to say that you'r map is awesome .

 

 

It s a great work, but there are neither parks nor some farms. I miss the landscape and some green places in it. There is only 1-2 really big parks on an island and the rest is planted with a street grid. The streets are too similar. They re looking all the same way. Compare the real Manhattan to Algoquin. R* swinged the streets more to create more variety.

Amazing job!, but imo would be good to add more lakes and rivers, reducing the size of the main city and put a couple of larger secondary cities separated from paradise city. I would change the desert with mountain and I would put in his place a second major city.

All this if you intend to create a complete map of gta. Obviously your concept is about a single city and is amazing as it is. The only small defect imo is the lack of lakes and rivers, and perhaps too desert, with that would be perfect for me, but is still the second best I've ever seen after the famous fake map we've all seen a thousand times.

so it isn't finished just yet there is allot more stuff to be added but Los santos is there

and the left is the forest/snow area if you go far enough you will get to snow eventually

as you can see Los santos isnt as big as the countryside but dont worry the city is still very big

but as i prefer countryside i have added more of that.

 

i will be adding towns/villages to the map as well.

i will post back as soon as i have updated it more

 

remeber it will look better than this

This is my favorite map so far. if we have a massive amount of offroad vehicles and aircraft this map is the ultimate playground.

Thanks from reading all the comments about what people want I just imagined that this was what they were visualising big city and lots of field,mouintens,lakes,dirt paths ,towns,villages different terrain types all that n this is what I'm trying to achieve with this.

OK guys so i have updated the map by adding

an army base to the far east

and a large town to the north east of the map im not sure what it should be called yet but maybe something mexican sounding lol i dno.

 

i have also added a dam and extended on the highway this map is huge by the way i mean the city Los Santos is 2x as big as Liberty City so yeh its big.

theres is lots more to be added so i will update you when i have made some more changes

MY god! How long did it take you to make every single road in LS? Great job!

 

Interesting, why so few towns?

 

AS for the name, MaryJuana or Mary Juana comes to mind simply because it is close to Tiajuana plus R* are always trying to add sex or drug references into their games, so I did the same. I did not try to be offensive in any way however. I apologize if that was to anyone.

Dont worry it'll get done. i usually update it everday addign diffrent stuff so yeh itll get done.
