gta9414
Playing GTA IV, I was thinking that it would be cool to have more weather effects. Things like snow, thunderstorms, extreme winds, etc. I guess the snow part would go along with me wanting to see GTA have some changing seasons(leaves changing color in the fall, snow in the winter, etc). It would add alot more to the game at least visually in my opinion, so whats your opinion on this? How could it be done timewise in GTA? Ex. Having seasons every 15-20 days. Another thing is, why haven't they done this yet? Thanks for your opinion in advance, gta9414
Narcis_speed6
I would really love to see snow, in mafia 2 the snow made it feel incredible.
Brown Sugar
I would really love to see snow, in mafia 2 the snow made it feel incredible. true, but if they are going to make the next gta in san andreas or vice city then there won't be any snow and i think rockstar said they aren't going to make any new cities for gta games
Narcis_speed6
Actually rockstar isn't going to remake any city, they are done with III era.
Brown Sugar
oh is that what they said i must have got confused, sorry
Jabalous
Actually rockstar isn't going to remake any city, they are done with III era. Vice City and San Andreas aren't exclusive to III's era, and Rockstar never stated that neither that they are not going to re-make Vice City or San Andreas in the future. Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas exist in the virtual world of Grand Theft Auto regardless of the era. I don't know if London should be excluded or not since it wasn't re-created but it was created as it is, using its real name not a satirical name. Daniel4
I agree, there should be more variety with the weather. If they remade San Andreas, there could be snow at time in places like Angel Pine; the interior of California can be pretty cold. Anyway, even if it was in Vice City, there could still be hurricanes and floods and things like that.
Hurrikane
i agree that i was very suprised that Iv didn't have some serious snow storms, thunderstorms, hurricanes no pun intended lol. i think it would have been one of those things we might here down the road that rockstar wishes they also could have inclcuded, heres to hoping and is a must for the next game, obviously no snow if its VC, but some great hurricanes in VC would be awesome, would be awesome to see news crews reporting on the weather outside with news vans and seeing people running around in the streets during the storm, driving around being very dangerous and barely able to see. Def need some good weather effects in GTA V.
gta9414
Thanks for the responses so far guys. I just have to ask, why havent they done it yet! It doesn't seem overly difficult, as we just saw it in Mafia II, and it adds alot to the game. What do you guys think about extreme winds, hurricanes? How realistic do you think it is to have those things in the next GTA?
Korpi
Yep, i would definitely like to see snow and (sometimes) snow storms in next GTA And ice/icy roads and all that

visionist
Snow on the ground (Mafia 2) is easy; just need a duplicate "snowy" map, different driving physics and sound and lighting effects, plus slower, thicker raindrops as snowflakes. Fully realistic snow that gradually falls, fast and thin at first, then slower and thicker, gradually piling up everywhere, accumulating on every ledge, car roof and every leaf of every tree, slowly building into drifts, with realistic, crackable ice, frosted window panes, dirtier snow getting pushed aside, melting and flooding the streets, etc, etc, etc? Hell Yeah.
Kwandilibro
It depends on the region. In the south, odds are you will see a lot of rain, some strong winds, and more rain. Of course there would also be a lot of sunshine. But if GTA were set, say, in the Midwest, maybe in spring, you could see thunderstorms, snowstorms, high winds, and sunny days, all in the same month. I really do hope, that if we see snow in GTA, that it could be like real snow. That being, it would make the roads white and slippery, possibly even icy; and would accumulate on the grass. And it should also make running and general movement slower.
Snake Without a Tongue
Yes, snow would be nice. I think they pretty much have every other weather effect nailed. The storms in GTAIV could be really bad if you stopped and experienced them. The thunder actually scared me if I had the volume up.
Algonquin Assassin
I agree. I also think in really bad thunderstorms there should be hail. Imagine that? You're walking around then suddenly it starts storming, and pieces of hail fall from the sky.

LOGGYTHEMAN
I want it to rain cats and dogs! We all do! Lol I'd acually like to see feral cars roam around in the next GTA since in RDR they had animals.
XTREME0235
I'd acually like to see feral cars roam around in the next GTA since inRDR they had animals. You mean like....ghost cars or something? Like if it had large forests there would be like a haunted car that drives by itself and it tries to murder you by running you over and such. That would be scary kind of and fun at the same time, XTREME0235.
