esject56
First I wanna mention that I've spent the whole day, literally from late morning to early night, fixing problems I've had with this game. Tons of different problems found and fixed. But I can't overcome this one. I'm getting an incredibly low FPS of 10-20 with medium settings, 20-25 with lowest and just below 10 with highest. But I can play games like Fallout: New Vegas and Far Cry 2 with medium settings and a smooth FPS. What the hell, Rockstar? Here's my rig: Video card - Nvidia GeForce GT 240 CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo, 2,2ghz OS - Windows Vista Premium Now let's go back in time a bit. I used to get this problem a year or two ago with the same rig and a hard drive which has broken down by now. Had about the same average FPS I'm getting now. Then I eventually fixed it somehow (don't remember how) and started getting about 30-40 FPS, damn it was awesome. I'm guessing I fixed it by installing 1.0.7, but I really don't remember. Then after many more months of playing performance demanding games my hard drive inevitably broke down. I've got a new one now and I'm getting this problem again which I was having long ago. So I'm either looking for a solution for getting rid of the lag, or a solution for getting the game to work with 1.0.7, which might fix the problem. I'd be grateful for any suggestions... esject56
I don't know how, but I got 1.0.7 working without having it crash at start up. Unfortunately the FPS remains the same... mkey82
If it was a couple of years ago, patch 7 didn't even exist yet. The PC you have is not that strong so the FPS you mention sounds about right. Patch 7 is sometimes a performance killer as it introduced a new shadow system. You may want to try some older patch version and probably an older GPU driver that you may have used at the time. I never said that it was couple of years ago when I installed patch 7, but appareantly it wasn't the solution because it doesn't fix the problem now. I used to be able to play this game with an FPS of 30-40 with the same rig so it doesn't sound right. And I've used older patches and they don't make any difference whatsoever compared to 1.0.7. mkey82
I'm guessing I fixed it by installing 1.0.7, but I really don't remember. ^^ GT240 is about as fast as a 1950XT, combined with 2GB RAM and a 2,2GHz CPU, it *does* sound right. Hope you'll get it back at higher performance levels. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/462592-huge-lag-with-106/#findComment-1060194122 Share on other sites
