crackdawg Posted November 11, 2010 Share Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Long post.... A bit optimistic, but alright. Would definitely like it if it went that way, but seems pretty unrealistic. Agent in Fall(Sept) 2011, GTA (Feb.) 2012. Thats just five mouths between two - for what we know - major releases. That's something special for any developer, but for RockstarN it's just straight out nuts. It would be like awaiting Half Life 2 Ep. 3 by the end of next week . good point, for all we know Agent could be canned by now, even though Zelnick said in the conference call last June i think its still a go. Its interesting Agent is PS3 exclusive, wonder if it will get the same advertising and all as other R* games. I am sure it will, but I wonder if Agent eventually waits till after a new GTA, since RDR did so well in sales maybe they can save Agent for another time. Maybe if no agent then GTA would be out around Feb or March 2012. I have said this a bunch of times but still..... A lot of R* games throughout the years have gone from PS3 exclusive to multiplatforms, It isn't too late for R* to do the same with Agent, but we'll see. If you spend 150+ million on development of an anticipated title, are you going to release it on platforms where pirates will immediately leak it, or are you going to do it where there is maximum return? Even with the latest console hacks, DRM is still mostly on lockdown there, PS3 has a lot of games that can't be pirated still even with latest 'payloads', and they haven't even done crypto updates yet.. R* doesn't just know the market and what people want, they know the technology. Same cant be said for others who make games with lack of replay value and push out to PC with ISO protectors that are already cracked.. Is agent Dead, i think so, GTA not even announced for fiscal year 2012 quarterly conf middle of next month. what could they say at that time. just numbers prob.
