Is it recoverable?

So recently, my userfile got corrupted. Things got deleted and sh*t. I decided to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion a bit today. I entered the game and poof. My saves were all gone although the modifications were there. I searched my computer for the files. They were nowhere to be found. I searched the file's name in C and found it but I cannot get it out of there. PC shows that the file is 5mb but when I try to copy and paste it, it says that that file doesn't exist. Although the file is there, it says that the file doesn't exist and won't copy it. I tried to use recovery programs but they couldn't even find the file. Is there any way to recover it? Or that file standing there is merely an icon and the original file is gone?

Sounds like the files may have been corrupted. Does the file icon state it's size? Did you try deleting it to recycle bin to see what happens?

For grins run the usually battery of system cleansing; virus scan, spyware scan, reg cleaner, chkdsk, defrag.

I know it's a broken record thing to say but it can clean up a lot of simple, and complex, problems

The file icon states the size. I'll try the recycle bin thing

 

EDIT: I tried to delete it, windows says that the file doesn't exist and won't delete it from there too.

It's gone then, sorry bud. I don't know if there's a way to bring it back, but I'd give Wolf's advice a shot.
