Garfield 2
I was wondering if changing my Q9400, DDR2 and 9600GT to a X4 955 and a HD 5750 would make the gaming expierience better? I play on 1680x1050, most games maxed out.
yoječ
Well... not much. IMHO do not change the whole platform, just get yourself a proper gaming card and you're all set. Or if you really want to have X4 955 then go for the mainboard with AM2+ socket, so you don't have to change your RAMs to DDR3.
Garfield 2
What would you advise in a price range of €110?
Ryan
Your CPU is still alright. A little old, but there's nothing wrong with it. You've got lots of RAM so you're fine there. My only suggestion would be to upgrade your graphics card to a GTX 460. Edited November 3, 2010 by Ryan
Garfield 2
Well, not sure if I need a GTX 460. I think I'd be fine with a GTX 260 I can get one for €
Ryan
The GTX 260 is old and wouldn't give you a whole lot of improvement. 460 would be the way to go if you can afford it. They're a great card.
Stinky12
If you had gone with the AMD upgrade route, then you have basically spend money on obsolete hardware as AMD's upcoming Bulldozer CPUs will require a new socket, AM3+. Just upgrade your graphic card, go for the HD6850. It's faster than a GTX 460. Edited November 5, 2010 by Stinky12
yoječ
Well, it's more or less the same as GTX460 1GB. I'd say buy whatever is cheaper.
Tommy-Vercetti19
I plan on getting a new GFX card too, i have pretty much the exact same PC as you garfield. I was looking at the 460 but i'm waiting for ATI's cards to make sure before i buy. I'm temped with the 460 though.
