Miro
You're using Steam version of Vice City, and lol232 doesn't. Simple. Dead (Retired)
radioman
Can i have a save file after demolition man? Steam saves are NOT compatibible with the Retail(CD) version saves, so, you will have to use Dem's TimeVault code tool(Pinned in this section), to get pass it, or you will have to get the Retail(CD) version. OR you can get a friend who has the Steam version to pass it for you. But Dem's TimeVault code tool is the quickest and easiest way to get passed the mission(s) in question. Here is the link to Dem's TimeVault in the Downloads Database. for your conveniance. Just a heads up. Edited November 5, 2010 by radioman
podman36
thanks for the timevault link but how do u use it?
radioman
thanks for the timevault link but how do u use it? All you do is back-up your original Main.scm file by renaming it to something like MainORIGINAL.scm, then put the main.scm file that came with TimeVault in place-in the *install directory/data/ folder. By default, it is C:/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA Vice City/Data. Load up your game, Pass whatever mission(s) you need to with TimeVault, then save, then either press the Windows key to get back to the desktop, or exit out of the game(the Windows key option is best), put your original Main.scm file back in place, then go back to your game, reload the save and off you go... Demerst(the creator) has explained it more in this topic. Just a heads up. Hope this helps. ALL of Dem's code tools work great with the Steam version. Spuds725
Just an FYI-- timevault has 2 known bugs... both minor... 1. If you use it to complete the boathouse asset-- the money pickup icon WILL NOT be created so you will never be able to collect money from the boathouse. 2. Same thing for the final mission of printworks-- if you use it for that mission, the money icon WILL NOT be created... Neither of these bugs prevents you from getting 100%-- in fact I went through a game and completed it to 100% using DEM'S code tools-- no problem.... The only things I had to do manually were robbing the stores and collecting the cars for sunshine autos... I used timevault for all the missions... the only things I noticed wrong were the above noted bugs...
