cidamelo
Hi friends, can you give me examples of Upper Middle Class Houses In The USA? It is because in Brazil Upper Middle Class people lives in apartments, not in houses, so I want to know how is a Suburbian Upper Middle Class House in the USA, because I don't know what house is Rich or Middle Class, and I want just a Upper Middle Class House because I'll make one in The Sims

trip
The only time I lived an upper middle class life in the suburbs was one year in high school when I lived with my father.  2 stories, 3 bedrooms. Could have been 4, but the forth would have had the access to the attic as well as cut outs looking over the kitchen. I can't think anyone would have wanted it for a bed room. First floor was kitchen, breakfast nook, living room, dining room, family room, and a mud room with washer and dryer.  It was pretty much a sims house Pretty standard Virgina, suburban house. cidamelo
Anyway, I'm search in Real Estate websites for houses between 300000 - 700000 dollars, I think that who is millionaire is already rich, and not just middle class
trip
You can't really put a standard price on one since real estate prices vary very much from location to location. 500,000 Seems kind of high though. A $300,000 house in one are might only cost $150,000 (for the same style house) in a different location. Hmmm nice bike
Here's an image for you of the average middle class suburban house in the US. There are ones just like this in lots of suburban towns (I see them all the time when I visit my friends who live outside the city, they live in one, actually, looks pretty much like this but a little smaller and no brick)
cidamelo
tripmills yes the location makes the whole difference, for example, my apartment is good located in my city, because of it it is worth around 200000 dollars but if it was in a worst location, it would worth around 120000 dollars, but I'm searching houses around Los Angeles! Claude94 this house is cute but I guess this is too middle class, my The Sims family is more, how can I say.... snobish, they are not rich, but they don't want too look middle class, do you know what I mean ? Otter
Here you go, dear. Some of the best houses in Vancouver. (Where I live. And yes, these are real prices. And yes, the dollar is pretty much on par with the American dollar these days.) Â http://www.crackshackormansion.com/ Â Â
cidamelo
Unoriginal44 why ? Otter this site is interesting, there is some ugly houses which worth a lot of money! The only beautiful house is the second! Look this house it is minuscule and it is worth $531,900!! Edited November 1, 2010 by cidamelo
Canofceleri
Upper middle class make 75-120k a year, maybe a good average. I guess it depends on the area, a house in suburban Tennessee that goes for $200,000 could go for upwards of 1 million in some places, maybe even more in the most exclusive areas in the country. You could buy a 20 million dollar apartment overlooking Central Park in Manhattan if you were really rich. Â Â This might be the upper middle class house in the USA that you are looking for. Â However, some super rich f*ck had this monstrous "house" built for him in Mumbai for a billion dollars. An ethicist's nightmare if you ask me, especially since it overlooks a Mumbai slum. Â Â In contrast, Warren Buffet might be considered well past the status of upper middle class, yet he has chose to live in this same house for decades: Â Â I'd say my socio-economic status straddles the lower class and the working class line. It'd be excellent to hang out in lower middle class. But for now I make do with a comfortable duplex. Â Â
Tyler
I saw that house in Mumbai thing while watching CNN in the morning a couple of days ago. I was pretty sure that the dude's house would get robbed at some point, until they said he had a parking lot surrounding the monstrosity that housed 168 cars at maximum. That's definitely enough running space to add a sniper guard to the second story.
cidamelo
Hi Canofceleri this house is a good example. I know this building, it is HORRIBLE!!! I rather live in my house than live on this monster! Can you believe this is the most expensive residence in the world? In my city they sold a horrible mansion for 10000000, it looks like a shopping center, there's much better mansions! And it is around a lot of buildings, if I had 10 million, I'd seek for more privacy! Look the pictures: In street view http://maps.google.com.br/maps?hl=pt-br&q=...107.25,,0,-3.07 Warren Buffet house is awesome! It must be very cozy. I think I'm middle class. tubbs51
Middle class US houses can range in prices of $90,000 to $200,000 in the area i live in... but some in Southern California can be worth up to $1,000,000. My grandpa's 3 bed, 2 bath house was apraised a few years ago at $900,000 but because of the housing crash and the financial issues its dropped in value down to $600,000... it all depends on where you live. Saget
I never got why you people need such huge houses. Most people here live in pretty tiny apartments, and even the ones that live in houses, they don't live in gigantic ones with 40 living rooms and 30 bedrooms. Hell, it's rare enough to have a guest room. |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|

I think most people feel that it's nice to have some extra room sometimes, so you won't have to feel cramped. Dreaming of California, where the sun never sets. Moonshield
That's no reason to have a big car, or hosue. People only buy big cars because A) They actually use the space for hauling sh*t or B) Because they can. The latter goes the same for houses - there's no point other than living in the land of excess.
cidamelo
Moonshield this house is very interesting and modern, I liked it!! Saget yes americans live in huge houses, I'd like to live in a huge house, but like the most middle class brazilians, I live in an apartment, but I like my apartment, though it is small Moonshield I think these big houses are wonderful Edited November 2, 2010 by cidamelo
Lithium
I think, like Otter proved to us, it depends on the location of the house. My parents built a house in New Brunswick that cost them $273.000, and if it were to sell in say Edmonton Alberta, it would sell for well over $1,000,000. I think I would be happy living in a house that you could build/buy for say $100,000 and that way I would have more money for other luxuries. My mom works for this old Jewish c*nt. She's nice, but holy hell. She has the BALLS to say that she's 'LOL MIDDLE CLASS'. NO YOU AREN'T.  YOU ARE RICH. NO ONE HAS A HOUSE THAT BIG ALL TO THEMSELVES. NO ONE LIVES NEAR A GOLF COURSE, BANKING CEO'S, LAKE FRONT PROPERTY, PROJECTS THAT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO WORK DAMN HARD TO LIVE THERE, ETC AND CONSIDER THEMSELVES PART OF THE MIDDLE CLASS.  Damn it, it must be the whole hatred of the rich Americans habe. She must have deluded herself into thinking that 'lol yeh f*ck the rich I'm middle class too!'. No. My grandmother is middle class. YOU are RICH.   crackshack or mansion  This is the second time you've posted this. I gotta ask; what is UP with this? Why are the crackhouses so nice looking, and why are the 'mansions' so horrible? Are the only people able to afford crack incredibly rich? Or is there such little area to live in that crap gets sold for a fortune?
boxmonster
Moonshield, you lived in the Villa Savoye? You must be some millionaire. The house is so notable it has its own Wikipedia page. Â TV tends to only show the nice houses. As for 90% of Floridians, we live in crappy ranch houses, if you're fancy enough you can have one with two stories. She must have deluded herself into thinking that 'lol yeh f*ck the rich I'm middle class too!'. No. My grandmother is middle class. YOU are RICH.  To be fair "middle class" is an absurdly broad term depending on where you are. In places with a lot of centuries of history, you have a lot more than just the amount of zeroes in your bank account determining if you're "upper class". You can be part of the old money crew and be comparatively poor when stood next to a successful entrepreneur, yet still be considered upper class while they are confined to upper middle class. The upper class in the UK seems to be reserved only for the mega rich and people with land/titles.  It seems like you've got the same idea about the rich wanting to be considered middle class that you see a lot of where the middle classes want to be considered working class simply to be down with the common man.  As for the actual topic of properties, from what I've seen, as long as you don't live in the city Americans have huge houses. But maybe that's just the impression I get from the perfect world of exported US media. I don't think I've ever seen an example of a semi-detached house in the US though. Ari Gold
I'm not sure if it's the same in the US, but I find suburbia to be so f*cking dull. Our family's considered upper-middle-class, and our house is worth... I dunno, between $800,000 and $900,000, and we live in the suburbs, but honestly, suburbia become so... boring. It's just community after community after community of houses, random parks and shopping centres. Even if one was quite wealthy, the surroundings feel semi-depressing, even though there are a lot of things to do. I probably didn't make much sense, but does anyone else feel anything similar? Â I have no problems with houses, though. It's just that I'd rather live in a million-dollar house in an expensive area, than a million-dollar near-mansion in suburbia, if I had that amount of cash. My Uncle works like a mule, and he has a very nice home in Albany. Construction Worker, lives next door to the community pool. Â Â I probably didn't make much sense, but does anyone else feel anything similar? Â It makes 100% perfect sense. Â Become a Hipster and move to an Urban Area. .
