Wolf68k
I have to suggest cleaning your system first. Scanning for viruses and spyware. What command(s) have you tried? What type of account are you using for yourself?

What type of account are you using for yourself? netsh int tcp set global ecncapability im the owner of this comp and i have access to admin but im nt very sure since XP is 10 times harder getting to admin on vista/7 u just right click and click run as admin while xp needs some password and comfirm bullsh*t which makes it complicated. Wolf68k
Actually if your account is an admin level account in XP all you have to do is just run cmd. No need for whatever you think you need to do. Did you bother to do any other the clean up stuff I said before? So let me get this right. You go to Start->Run and type cmd and hit enter and the command line window runs just fine. But when you type a command you get the error access denied? Or are you getting the error after you hit enter in the Run window? Exactly what command(s) are you trying to do? A set one or any/all commands? Wolf68k
Is that the ONLY command that you get the problem with? Try ping or tracert followed by www.google.com I need to know if this problem is with all commands or just the one. If it's all commands then it could be something serious. If it's just one then it could be something simply not configured correctly Also just fun do the netsh with nothing else and tell me what you get. Stinky12
Create a new user account, go into that and see if you get the same "access denied" error.
Wolf68k
So every command you try you get access denied, correct? Boot into SafeMode with Networking, also try without, and try the commands there. Is ZoneAlarm installed? Yes or no. Did you scan for viruses, spyware and the other things I said in my first reply? If the answer is No, then DO IT
