cpu upgrade

i want to upgrade my cpu to amd Phenom II x4 Quad Core 955 Socket AM3 3.2Ghz Box (my old cpu is amd athelon x2 5000 dual core 2.61 gh and its a huge bottleneck for my gpu)

my question is how will the game run for me/ is it worth buying?

my specs:

nvidia gts 250 1gb

Phenom II x4 Quad Core 955 Socket AM3 3.2Ghz (after buying)

2 gb ram

windows 7 32 bit

With that card and CPU, you shouldn't have problems running it on high settings.

What motherboard is the question we need to ask.

i am planning to buy one of these motherboards:

Gigabyte M68M-S2P AM2+, AM3, nForce 630a, DDR2 1066, GeForce 7025

or

Asus M4N68T-M AM3, nForce 630a, DDR3 1333, PCI-E, VGA, HDAudio, GBl

 

which do you think will preform better with this cpu and worth buying?

Do not buy any of those. nForce is plain sh*t.

 

Cheapest AM3 motherboard worth recommending is Asrock M3A770DE. MSI 770-G45 is also good. If you want AM2+ mobo then I'd recommend DFI 790GX-M2RS.

 

Also what type of RAM do you have? This is important, since AM2+ motherboards require DDR2, and AM3 ones require DDR3.

i curractly have 2 gb ram ddr2 but i was planning to buy 2gb or 4gb ram ddr3
