ThisIsAnExample
Hey, I have this problem where I try to install Gta SA onto my computer, it'll say it's installing but it will be stuck on this... As you can see, it's stuck on installing the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas EXE. I have left it for ages and kept trying over and over but sadly, nothing is happening. After I run the setup, my internet seems to cut out too, it's like my browser ("Firefox") is disabled. On the bottom left side. It will say "stopped".... Is there any way to get past this? I've also tryed going into the CD itself and doing the setup manually. AND for some reason the installer won't even unstall the game now, it thinks the game is already installed. It won't even unstall it without an error. Can someone give me advice please? Thanks. Ps, I'm using XP. I've never had this problem with the game before on this computer till now. Girish
Have you tried deleting all the game files manually and then running setup.exe? If that doesn't work, try Revo Uninstaller. For your installation problem, do you see any scratches on the disc? Have you tried running the setup on a different PC? Make sure you close all running applications before installing the game. Close your anti-virus too; it could be interfering with the game installation.
ThisIsAnExample
I've downloaded that software and it did a good job at getting rid of all the left over files but sadly... The game still won't install. I've also noticed all my internet and everything on my computer that uses the internet stops aswell... The installer only seems to be installing the EXE. and the readme. Nothing is wrong with the CD either since it worked before. I've also disabled any programs that could be messing with the installer.... No luck. Girish
It won't be right to assume that there's nothing wrong with the disc until we have ascertained it. Hence why, I asked you to try the disc on a different PC. If the game installs fine on a different PC, then we can be sure that there's nothing wrong with the disc. Still, before you try it out on a different PC, I suggest you copy all the contents of the DVD onto your hard drive and try to run the setup from there. See if that works. ThisIsAnExample
The disc works fine on the other computer. Although copying the files onto my harddrive did not fix the problem.
Girish
Then it must be something on your PC that is causing issues with the installation. Are you sure you closed every single running application before trying to install? Some applications might be running in background and you might need to end them via Task Manager. Turn off your anti-virus and Windows Firewall too. Btw, when you copied the files onto the hard drive and tried installing from there, did you face the same issue or something else?
