flyboy7
This thread is all about garages & safehouses: locations, types, mechanics, etc. ----- In GTA IV there are only five safehouses, each with it's own parking spot. That's it. There's no physical garage with doors and you cannot buy safehouses. Compare this to GTA SA with 29 Safehouses, 13 of them have garages. I believe it is an important of the roleplaying element of GTA to bring back a lot of Safehouses & Garages in different forms. Assume that we can buy properties. "GARAGE" 1. GARAGES should make a comeback - it should save what you could fit in it. For example, 2 cars or 4 bikes and so on... 2. The PARKING SPOT in IV is a good touch to the game as it brought us a new way of saving vehicles. 3. LOCK UPs - The ability to buy a lock up garage would be great for those who would like to collect rare cars like the one seen in Shoreside Vale in III and infront of Perestroika in IV. http://lock-up-garages.co.uk/img/hp/main/mi1_1.jpg 4. TEMPORARY SAVING - If you park your car properly on the side of any street in the city, or in alleys, or in your driveway, it should save any vehicle for a few hours like 6 hours. But if you park it improperly like in the middle of the road, it will disappear as usual ( Maybe it got towed.) Temporary Saving is not affected by distance, so no matter how far you go, the vehicle will stay there for a limited time. 5. PARKING STRUCTURES - there are numerous parking buildings, basements, in previous GTA games, but non of them can save. These places should be able to store vehicles for a FEW DAYS but not permanently (Maybe it got stolen.) 6. DOCKS - where you can PERMANENTLY save your hard to find boats in your own dock, and TEMPORARILY on all docks found in the city for a few hours. Like in the point above, its not affected by distance. http://imagesus.homeaway.com/vd2/files/WVR...12/114586_0.jpg 7. HELIPADS & HANGARS SAFEHOUSES Safehouses should be varied in size and shape like in previous games like III & SA. 1. ALLEY Safehouse - I like the idea of a safehouse somewhere in the alley like in III. Just a bed where to sleep and a small garage 2. SMALL HOUSE - Like in SA, with a single or double garage. You can park your car on the driveway temporarily for a few hours. 3. BIG HOUSE - or Mansion with a dock and Helipad 4. APPARTMENTS/HOTELS - Like in IV, with a garage or parking spot in front or in the back lot. 5. OLD "HIDEOUTS" - Like the one in the San Fiero countrysides and the one on the mountain, but you can save a car or two in the front yard 6. ABANDONED FACTORY/WEARHOUSE type - Like the many we can in Alderney. Just drive in your vehicle and it will save. http://photo-reverse.com/gallery/metall-factory/st1.jpg 7. Would it be too much if I want a mansion with my own private airfield with a hanger, helipad, dock, and a garage? Or is it something only John Travolta could have. It would be the most expensive property in the game http://lock-up-garages.co.uk/img/hp/main/mi1_1.jpg Edited October 30, 2010 by flyboy7
SammiiDoogles
I agree on all points! I like the ideas about temporary parking and private lockups to collect your cars a lot.
AceRay
You should be able to 'pimp' your crib. You can dress it up, fix it, add computers, bigger TVs, pool tables, armories, garages, etc I think it could be awesome to have an awesome crib. Akavari
I like the parking garage idea... We should also get a helipad on one of our safehouses for saving helicopters.

maxopower
I... Don't know. I thought it was a little too much in SA, there were no idea in buying a city savehouse, you already got one save house, and rarely use the others. I think IV and RDR did it pretty great. there were just enough SH, and it never felt like a hassle getting to them.

Finn 7 five 11
I agree on all those points, especially the save for a few hours thing, we do need more safe houses in the next one, but not too many, so if the map were tha same size as iv (just an example) there should be like 7 more safehouses. each with a little feature, 1-2 that you can just crash in, 1 in each city with a massive garage, and one in each city with a helipad.
