darthYENIK
Halloween is upon us, and the art of pumpkin carving is at it's peak. So, what do you do with your pumpkin? Carve it? Paint it? Sculpt it? Make a mask out of it? I personally love coming up with my own designs and enjoy the challenge of making essentially a two-dimensional sculpture (although many pumpkin carvers are putting more depth into their Jack O' Lanterns). Here's a couple that my sister and I made, the past couple years, although the second set I got the designs from a book... And here is a design I made this year for my sister, who's school mascot is an Owl... ...I'll upload pictures when I get them. So, what masterpieces have you created? Moonshield
Cool. I made this vector that I'm just about to apply to my pumpkin... I'll have to use some of my finer wood-carving tools to get the more intricate parts of the design, but it'll werk. I'll put up the finished product when...I finish. darthYENIK
Pretty cool, Moonshield. I have two more pumpkins, that I still haven't figured what I want to put on them. One of them will probably have a traditional "scary face". And I don't know what to do with the third. Update: the Owl pumpkin is starting to fall apart. The eye fell off, and the face is looking pretty bad. I doubt it will last til Sunday. Edited October 29, 2010 by darthYENIK
Chunk
My camera's broke at the minute so I can't take a pic, but mine's basically a vampire face. Nothing too special, but whatever. Also, does anyone remember someone on here who did an awesome Blues Brothers Jack O' Lantern last year? Their username's completely slipped my mind but someone must know whoever it was. CryptReaperDorian
@Moonshield: That will look quite awesome if that turns out right! Now is where I wait for a talented GTAF'er to make a Jack Off Lantern. EDIT: @darthYENIK: That sucks. I hope your piece of art holds up. The owl is a pretty neat design also. SHXC
Didn't Viddy have some pictures of the pumpkins he carved a few years ago? I think I remember him doing a Blues Brothers one?

Slynke
Made this at work.. I was going to put the tribal design all over, but I ran out of time/energy. Instead, I settled for the Mike Tyson of Jack-o-Lanterns lol Ryzen 7 5800X | RTX 3080 Ti

darthYENIK
Nice. That's what I like in a Jack o Lantern. Here's the Owl pumpkin. I love the design, I just poorly executed it. Notice the f*cked up eye that I had to glue back on, and the tooth picks for support. I still have two, that will probably be done later today, I'll try to do a better job. CongaRats629
Here's my Jack of the lantern. As always I based it on The Long Halloween: I liked yours so much that I went and took the liberty of just plain old copying it. Hope you don't mind. @darthYENIK: I would carve another pumpkin, but I don't think I can take any more of that horrible, horrible smell. I think I'll just let my mum carve the other one. Pac.
I guess my family and i just don't have the haloween spirit in us, i never found it fun to carve up pumpkins, we never decorate our house, somtimes i go out with mates, family get drunk and what not, but i hate those trick and treaters, i know they are children it's fun, but my grandmother took of her shoe and raised it at a 10 year old child once because he asked for more candy. Menaced
I'm not too creative when it comes to pumpkin carving. I made this one today. It looks a complete mess, but to Hell with it! This is my one from last year:
CongaRats629
Here's a family portrait from last Halloween. The little one has since grown many more teeth. I really like the grinning pumpkin on the right -- simple, yet effective. I might try out a similar design next year. @darthYENIK: Yeah, I hate the gunk too. When you initially take the top off a pumpkin and look inside, it's f*cking horrible. The inside of an unhollowed pumpkin combined with smell is the stuff of nightmares. I can see why they're so relevant to Halloween.
darthYENIK
Here's the last two I did yesterday. I like simple forms that you can instantly recognize from the street when they're on my porch. One is a vampire and the other is a wolfman. Although the wolfman ended up looking kind of like a horseman, because I didn't have time to put details like teeth and claws...

VideoPoker
The totally awesome Creature from the Black Lagoon pumpkin is my brother's and Frankenstein on the right is mine. I kind of flaked out this year and just copied a pumpkin I found on the internet. Last year I drew my Blues Brothers pattern weeks in advance, but I did everything the night before Halloween this time. And here's the Radiohead bear that my friend carved up. Great pumpkins this year, guys. Moonshield's less handsome join date brother <

Lithium
I think the creature from the black lagoon is the best pumpkin carving I've ever seen! My fav.
