How can i have better performance?

Hi.. My laptop's technical features are here; 4GB DDR3 1066MHz, ATI4650HD Mob.Read., 500GB 7200RPM HDD, T9600 2.8GHz GPU.. I have been playing GTA IV for 2 years with this pc.. Firstly options of graphics in game was high.. But when i play more than half an hour, it starts to work slowly.. So i changed the options to medium (all), then its performance falls down again after half an hour.. Im using a pc cooler for my laptop.

 

Now im looking for a patch or etc. to gain performance more than now. Which one can improve the performance or how can i tweak the performance of my game.. I looked for "Ultimate Performance Tweak Mod" but on the net people say that "It's a fake mod!".. So i was feared to download it (2.63GB). I hope i can explain how i wanted. Im looking for a real mod like ultimate performance tweak mod.

I am running GTA on the ATI 4650 1GB HD also

The truth of the matter is our cards are pretty much dated now - yes we have 1GB but if CPU is not up to scratch then the amount of memory we have on our cards is worthless

 

I must admit I am confused to why it runs well at 1st then after 1/2 hour it slows - could be overheating issues on your laptop but not sure

 

I am running 3.00ghz intel core 2 duo with 4 gig ram here and although comibined with the 4650 card every other game runs like s*&^ off a shovel, this game is a tetchy little sod

 

There are 1 or 2 little tweaks out there which could improve FPS marginally but not enough for you to say 'SOLVED IT!'

 

Upgrade me thinks

Yes you are right, our cards are not up-to-date but when i see someone who can play on GT9600 etc. which are not better than our cards, i'm confused why i cant play strictly good.. And i have a laptop cooler for overheating (I have paid 40€ for it it was expensive ), but i will send my laptop to technical service to make cleaned its fans. May be you are right about game patchs.. I wish there were a patch that can improve overly game performance

I am on 1.0.7.0 patch which i understand is the latest patch but most say that the latest patch has reduced FPS on certain computers and have rolled back to earlier patches such as 1.0.6.0

I must admit I have not seen that much change

I average about 35 FPS online with medium settings - i get more on single player but my bench mark is how fast the FPS is online

 

Also I find how quick my internet connection has a massive bearing but it sounds like your problems may be linked to overheating
