LOGGYTHEMAN
Don't you think V should have more open area. I personally think R* are moving away from just city based game to more of a countryside/city game with more open area's. Marshland, valleys, more residential neighborhoods. I'd always thought of being able to climb down into the sewer or, from a beach train to get in. SA was a great game, very exploratory and that's what I think R* are doing at the moment with V. I think this needs its own topic. For us to think, how much open area's will there be. Underground caves, sewers, swamps and easter eggs. Start thinking... CJsports
Yea, I think GTA SA had an almost perfect balance of city and countryside and I hope the next gta has a similar balance. And I liked the way that there where small villages and communities everywhere. I also loved the way on SA that you could be in a wooded area and yet only a few minutes drive away from a desert. Mati
Agree. GTA should be as big as RDR only with cities.
maxopower
At this point I think there is no doubt about it. They already got all the props after doing RDR, Animals, trees, rocks, sounds. Just like how GTASA reused a lot of the RDRevolver stuff.
LOGGYTHEMAN
Yeah, RDR had all that stuff. Know doubt, R* said they have already started the next GTA. The RDR idea may translate into the next GTA.
John The Grudge
I think that given the detail and density of Liberty City in GTA IV, it's unlikely they'll want to go backwards in that regard. SA was great but the cities themselves were much smaller by comparison. So a modern equivalent to SA would need to be a fair bit bigger in size. What I mean is that I doubt Rockstar would do a GTA now with cities that small. I think what we might see is a city with slightly smaller proportions to Liberty City but possibly with some small surrounding towns/farms/forrests what have you. It might have a map as big as SA did but it'll probably contain just one city. I wouldn't be surprised if Los Santos was the setting. GTA Los Santos ftw. " SA was great but the cities themselves were much smaller by comparison. " Well nobody mentioned multiple citys. Though I agree. One big city (Size of LC, Rockstar is much more familiar whit the engine, and got lots of props from both RDR and IV, so not necessarily smaller) and a rich countryside much like the one in RDR, whit smaller community spreed throughout. xgtamontariox
Yes, I strongly agree with you. I thought that liberty city was just too depressing only being just a city with no beautifal open fresh country. That's one thing they really lacked that's why gta San andreas will always be my favourite. They have already got lots of resources from RDR which will save them a chunk of time. Combine the graphics of gta 4/ red dead with the great lovely potential of San andreas and it would be the best game ever
XTREME0235
Know doubt, R* said they have already started the next GTA. When did they say that? Read this: http://www.gta4.net/news/4375/dan-houser-i...y-speculations/ It was posted in 2009. But there are a few quotes from Dan Houser himself, nothing too revealing other than a possible 1000 page script. Quote from The Times: As for the boys themselves, they are already back at work. There's a Western game in the works for next spring, and the next GTA to think of. “We'll think of a city first, then the characters,” says Houser. The script he will end up co-writing will run to around 1,000 pages, nearly ten times as much as a feature film. XTREME0235.
