Big_Mitch_Baker
Not sure if this should be here or under "other" but here it goes... None of my changes in IMG tool seem to be taking effect anymore I had to reformat my computer, so I backed up my mod (models folder, data folder, ect) and went ahead. I had once before uninstalled San Andreas, then all I had to do was copy and paste the old folders over the new ones and my mod worked again just fine... However NOW I copy the files over and none of the models are working...The main.scm compiles, but doesn't effect the game at all, and all my edited NPCs are normal. To make things stranger, the PED editor still knows my custom PEDS are there but the game itself just renders the regular old ones : / I've tried changing the peds again manually using IMGTOOL, but for some reason after I rebuild the archive the game still renders the old characters that I just finished replacing (and therefore shouldn't even exist in the files anymore). This is very frustrating, seeing as I am almost done a very complex mod. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it, I figure it's got something to do with one of the .img files not accepting the changes (none are set read only, I checked). yair1221
well, have you tried removing the current files and adding the new ones? instead of just replacing them Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461991-odd-problem/#findComment-1060181217 Share on other sites
Big_Mitch_Baker
Yeah, tried that to no avail...Thanks for the suggestion though Also tried manually adding each pedin IMGTOOL, and for some reason they don't appear in game. If I go into IMGTOOL and extract the txd, it IS my custom ped, but when I play the game it's the original...And I don't understand why sannybuilder compiles the script but the game doesn't use it Also deleted the GTA user files to see if that helped, which it didn't Edited October 29, 2010 by Big_Mitch_Baker Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461991-odd-problem/#findComment-1060181374 Share on other sites
Adler
Hmmm try using VirtualIMG made by Ryosuke. You can find it on his Beta Mods Page. I've been using it for replacing and adding files in gta3.img gta_int.img and player.img without directly editing the IMG file and it works flawlessly. Big_Mitch_Baker
Thank you Adler, that is working to re-add the new txds and stuff Now I just need to figure out why SannyBuilder isnt' working right...It says I've compiled the script, but when I play the game it's still the original main.scm Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461991-odd-problem/#findComment-1060181549 Share on other sites
yair1221
dude, something is DEFINATELY wrong with your PC/SA installation are you sure it is named right? i mean, named "main.scm" and it is in the correct folder...check you are playing the same game you modded(i know, sounds stupid, but i have like 9 SA installations, it gets harder to keep track...) TheSiggi
Compiling creates the main.scm in your CLEO folder (if installed) and for your main you should try to copy the main.txt into your data\script folder and the open it with Sannybuilder and then Compile + Copy or simply copy your new main into your script folder Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461991-odd-problem/#findComment-1060181796 Share on other sites
Adler
If you're using Windows Vista/7 with UAC enabled then a copy of the main.scm in the VirtualStore folder could be the one that SA is using instead of the one you modified. Check X:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore to see if your SA is using the files stored there. It might be the cause of both your IMG and main.scm problems. james227uk
not to be a party-pooper but this belongs in the moddelling section because it has .img's and stuff [EDIT* nevermind ] Modelling =/= IMG Edting. Please tell me how creating a plant pot in 3Ds max is in any way similar to adding a couple of files to gta3.img Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461991-odd-problem/#findComment-1060182400 Share on other sites
