(HELP)Toreno's Last Flight

I have been shooting the darn helicopter dead on for the last two hours or so, and I don't even make a dent in it's damage bar. What's going on here? I move ahead of the helicopter on the freeway, wait for it to come, shoot it dead on with the missile launcher four or five times, and it just flies on by every single time. I read in a Walkthrough that I can take the Heat Seeking RPG to it just as it leaves the helipad, however, I can't get on the grounds of the airport where the Heat Seeking RPG is located, so that does me no good. Can someone please tell me either how to get on the airport grounds or how to shoot the helicopter down?

Alright, here's a trick I do.

First, go to the San Fierro airport and pick up the rocket launcher with target. Then, start the mission, go to the police department, but DON'T pick up the rocket launcher that spawns on the stairs, get on the bike and move ahead then wait. When it's close shoot with the rocket launcher that has target.

Thank you for your reply, however, the problem is that I can't get on the grounds of the airport to get the missile launcher. It says I need to fly more, but I can't go to pilot's school until I open up the desert missions.

To enter it, you could just put a car next to the building than jump on the car, and from the car to the building. Than exit it. It'll open and it'll stay open until you get in with the car. Or you could just jump from the mountain roads.

As said park car a few feet from the gate. If CJ isn't too fat he can jump to the roof then into the field. Approaching the gate from the inside opens it if the vehicle isn't parked too close to it. Drive to the fuel storage tanks where the HEAT launcher is located (a Snap shot icon is in the same place)

When you return to the helio-pad have the launcher ready as CJ goes up the stairway. STOP at the first landing. (The 'copter will take off at that point.) Aim at the copter and when the 'targeting marker' turns red take the shot. The copter will be just at the corner of the building by then. Watch the radar and you will see the missile track around the building following the copter and impact. That should be enough.

 

But FIRST. before you enter the police compound.

Go to the far corner North West across the street from the police compound.

Shoot ONE of the men on the street running at CJ then the man on the platorm (DO NOT Shoot any COPS.) Wait until the Wanted star goes away. Then Shoot another of the men. Repeat until they are all dead and you have only cops left. NEVER shoot the cops. It will be possible to do the mission without any wanted stars.

 

If for some reason the copter isn't 'killed' it will be necessary to continue to the pad. Bypass the RPG without taking it. Jump down and use the supplied motorcycle to chase. Go across the grass to the broken bridge and jump the cycle to the next ramp. Run up the highway and stop quickly jump off the bike aim and shoot when the maker turns red. If necessary repeat

NOTE that the aiming program is screwy. Shoot when RED, most weapons systems shoot on Green, but they reversed the colours to make it more difficult to use. I guess somebody thought that the Target is HOT when RED. Only they know. Scout the grounds before you do the mission to check it out and practice.

You don't need a Heat Seek RPG or Minigun or soemthing else. Just need the RPG without problems.

While the Mission do this Easiest way: After breaking in there (the SF Police station), collect the RPG and Follow the Helicopter with the FCR900. Just follow the Freeway and make sure you don't get shoot by the Heli people. The helicopter stops at the end of the Freeway above the water between SF and Mt. Chilliad. Then it's easy to shoot it down cuz the heli is not moving. -Mission done- Try it! It worked for me on UNMODDED game

TO add a little help, after you reach the stairs (cutscene of take off), immediately switch (look) to the left where tress and the edge of the building opposite to the helipad. The helicopter will stop mid-air for roughly 2 sec. Have Heat Seeker (best) and the reticle will change to red within those 2 sec and shoot, sit back and relax it will destroy and u'll get the message in next 5 sec, if not than follow him. Its very simple!!!..
