Tsuroki
1. Red Dead Redemption is a f*cking brilliant game and if you haven't played it, you need to. Right now. Go to RedDead.net, our partner forum for Red Dead Redemption, and start reading. Do it! </shameless plug> 2. Red Dead DLC is going to slow down. We've gotten our "expansion packs" and Undead Nightmare is essentially a game unto itself. 3. Red Dead Redemption for the PC is a strong possibility, based on what we've seen from Rockstar in the past. I have nothing to say about Agent and L.A. Noire, but I can assure you that both will be receiving a lot of focus from the R* head office over the next year or two (or three or four). So don't expect a new GTA sequel just yet. We at Rockstar Base no very little about L.A. Noire and Agent as well. R* has been very tight lipped about Agent especially which adds all the more excitement. Finn 7 five 11
Rockstar North is Focusing on Agent, so after that comes out we will have more of an indication when Grand theft auto v will come out. Grand theft auto v may actually be made by Rockstar San Diego as they did such a good job with Red Dead, but they are tied down with the new red dead right now, but that could be finished before agent is. I do not think San Diego would be making Grand theft auto V, but that is just an opinion, i don't know what Rockstar's corporates want to do with the next GTA. 2012+ is when it will come out i suspect. MrcTOtheJ
Actually North has sent down a team of animators to help Team Bondi with Noire. Oh, oops I didn't hear that, well anyhow it's not like they sent everyone, but with that and agent man power might be low, but who knows. As Andy said, if you haven't played RDR you really need to it's f*cking excellent if I do say so my self, even though I still have to buy it, I've only borrowed it. @Finn4life I don't see R* San Diego developing the next GTA, while they are a good dev, I just don't see R* north letting thier baby go, and anyhow San Diego has their own two franchises to work on. (The Red Dead games, and the Midnight Club franchise)
Algonquin Assassin
I know it's probably not going to happen, but I would like 1 more single player DLC for RDR. Only this time I think it should show John's life while he was in Dutch's gang, or.......spoilers below if you haven't finished the game. Maybe it could show more of Jack? It should show the moment the West truly died, and modern civilization takes over. You could really feel it at the end of RDR, but it would be cool to see what happens with Jack after he finishes off Ross. I have it in the back of my mind he eventually becomes like John Dillinger, or something.

mikkenugent
Its mind bogglin to read people talk about this era or that era bein over as if they KNOW lol. Speculation is one thing but dont say "this era's over coz this guy said this vague remark" no one knows sh*t about NEXT unless you work at R*. The fact is is that they dont need to make another "universe" again simply because it will obviously be in another city with mostly a new cast, FACT. I also wouldnt say LCS and VCS werent major releases or non canon because they actually were on both accounts. As for an announcement, if thats another as Andy put it " 1. 2 possibly more" years away (id say buy 2013 if there isnt another GTA by then) you can expect the GTA fanbase to be whittled down drastically I'd bet. They know their money maker, and they know that people are itchin for a new GTA. Not to take anythin away from RDR (because I do love it...though Undead Nightmare was a let down in a few ways) but most people love it coz its like I said many times before its GTA with a cowboy hat on. I truly hope these next couple games turn out well for R* but any wait longer than late 2011 early 2012 is not really gonna do the game well I dont think. I can wait a bit longer for the game but a conformation is what I personally want and if L.A. Noire, Agent, and Max Payne 3 are great games then an announcement about a GTA in 2011 or 12 wont hurt them, they should be able to stand on their own and if R* has to starve their fanbase of GTA to get sales for other titles then I would feel that some of these new games may not be that great to begin with IMHO. I agree with you completely, if R* dose wait to long the fan base will have whittled down some, I mean it'd still be big but not to many new comers would be hoping on the GTA band wagon. Though I think we might see it by late next year to mid to late 2012, who knows though that's just my opinion. Though I don't agree with that they're starving the GTA fan base to get sales on other titles, yeah there are shorting there reliance on GTA but not completely phasing us out for a time. @Darkshade12, while GTA is a huge money maker for R* I think recently they have been trying to build other franchises popularity, which is smart because face it GTA won't last forever Edited November 3, 2010 by Mr.c TO the J

Comments like this are actually starting to piss me off, do you really want Rockstar to just ignore everything else and focus on GTA? They've made it clear they don't want to be a One Trick Pony. It's BARELY been over a year since the last Official GTA release (The Ballad of Gay Tony/Episodes from Liberty City), and since GTA, we've had a GTA released EVERY YEAR (2008 - GTA IV, 2009 - TLAD, TBOGT, EFLC Bundle Xbox 360, 2010 - TLAD & TBOGT via EFLC Bundle PS3/PC). And even now, this holiday we have GTA IV: The Complete Edition, which has been played though to be fair. I've had my fill of GTA and it's promotion for a while, yes it earns big but so does the Red Dead franchise now and there's still other games to come from them where they can try something new. Do you really want yearly GTA releases? Do you really want Rockstar to saturate the market with these games? Just look what Activision did to Call of Duty and Guitar Hero, constant releases arn't a good thing, let the damn company spend a little time on making something great, let them try the new games, let them see what works, let them improve their engines/coding/methods, let them figure out how to squeeze the best out of each console and PC platform, let them be creative over time, let them do all that sh*t, let it build up, and then unleash that onto a new fresh reinvented GTA game. Trust me, it will be worth the wait that way so both Gameplay and Graphics are extremely improved over GTA IV and EFLC.

Yes but understand my arguement for this, if Rockstar goes off and works on other games, I'm not saying you have to buy them, don't, I'm not planning to buy all of them, BUT companies do this little thing called gaining experience, let them work on other games to build the engine better, and then when they return to GTA, you'll get a game that plays better, will have more features, will look better both artistically and graphically, sound better and overall just be better compared to if they knocked out a GTA game every year. Wait, we waited over 2 years for San Andreas. Let them do other games, you don't have to buy them but it IS critical that Rockstar do other games so they can work out what gameplay works for a new audience, for example, The Weapon Selection and Costume Selection of Red Dead Redemption, along with it's improved Aiming system and options would be great for the next GTA game! Finn 7 five 11
Man, no one mention L.A. Noire?! I'm pretty sure R* will put their attention to promote that game after they finish with Undead Nightmare. LA Noire...is being made by team bondi...mostly i thinmk and rockstar is giving a hand...team bondi, well their last game was...OK (The Getaway) but i wouldn't expect too much from LA NOIRE (im not writing it off but i wouldn't get my hopes up). For those who did play "the getaway" i suspect LA NOIRE could by similar...or AGENT could be similar. I think agent would be more of a tactical game. The Volt
So..Rockstar has just launched it last episode (I guess) for RDR, which was a part from the RDR's DLCs disc. Personallity, I guess that R* is done with RDR, otherwise why would they launch a disc includes all of it DLCs? We have to wait, maybe GTA V's announcement will come by.. NOW, when R* is done with RDR's DLCS... and Agent... and Max Payne 3... and LA Noire.... then maybe we'll see V.
mobe
If you want to make a well educated guess as to when we will see GTA V the ONLY game you have to consider when formulating your educated guess is Agent. La Noir and all the rest of them are all being done by other R* studios (incidentally R* Leeds had taken over part production of LA Noir last time I heard) . The same R* studio behind GTA is also currently doing Agent. Rockstar North is not a big studio so I can guarantee you they won't have been working on Agent and GTA V at the same time right from the start. Its highly likely that if R*North is indeed working on GTA V then the design team started when they finished the primary design work on Agent. 2011 will be Agent's year. My guess is we'll get a trailer March next year with the game coming out in October time. If Agent were to be coming out sooner than that then I'm sure we would know a lot more than we do about by now. I think its highly unlikely if not impossible for R*North to bring Agent and GTA V out in one year in very quick succession. Like I said its a small and focussed studio. I know it brought out Manhunt and Vice City in close proximity to each other but that was last gen with two massively smaller games. I'm about 90% certain by this time next year we still won't have heard anything about GTA V. If there's going to be another GTA this generation then it will be in 2012. However 2012 looks increasingly like the year of the PS4 and next Xbox. Will Rockstar chance releasing a GTA on what will be yesterdays platforms just as everyone's attentions are firmly on next gen stuff? I doubt it. I'm increasingly of the opinion the next GTA will be on the PS4 and/or on the next Xbox. I'm not sure about Microsoft but Sony at any rate has admitted it already has studios, tellingly both first and third party studios, working on PS4 games. I'd bet you R*North is one of them. Rucke
2011 will be Agent's year. I think 2011 will be LA Noire's and Max Payne 3's year to be honest. I don't think will should expect Agent until 2012.
willgtavcs
well, Agent sounds very spy like. I beat it will be spy realated. Or goverment, CSI, whatever, its going to be spyish You shouldn't write off a game so quickly, we don't know anything about it apart from the fact that it's the first non GTA game R* North has made since Lemmings. My point being that that sounds very exciting. Manhunt 2? didn't they predominantly develop that? or at least publish it

I don't think will should expect Agent until 2012. If that's the case then I think we can definitely right off the idea of another GTA this generation. Unless its been hit by huge delays (which is perfectly possible) Agent is fairly far through production. I would take a guess that basic design work started in late 2006 or early 2007. I did hear in the grape vine that R* were hoping to be further through it than they were this year but that may or may not be true. I still think we'll see it next year.
