I hate cinemas because they're always full of assholes, it's only the films I really want to see that make me try and bare the assholes. What is your opinion of the film industry at the moment? (Feel free to go off on a rant about the studio system, or the increasing trend of remakes):I'm not a fan of the constant remakes but I don't mind if the remakes are more like re-imaginings and the director applies his own vision... If so, make a list...: N/A The Future of Film How long do you think Blu-Ray will last before it's death?: It probably won't be strong the next 5 years, by when I imagine digital distribution will be pretty big. I have no idea when it'll actually die though. What do you see for the future of home cinema?(Write as much as you want): 3D, urgh. What changes in films do you see in the near future? : more ways to try and eek profits out without direct customer input, to try and combat piracy. e.g. more product placement. Above my desk here is an original 'From Beyond' theater poster. Above my wife's desk is an original 'Martin' theater poster. There is an original 'Wicker Man' in our living room. All the displayed ones are in nice glass frames, and all of the stored ones are properly stored. I see home 3D as being a fad. I see bigger screens if not more acceptance of projection. What is your favourite quote from a film ever?: "If it bleeds, we can kill it." (Predator) as well as any other quotes from Arny. Napoleon's quotes from Napoleon Dynamite are also hilarious. The Industry How often on average do you visit the cinema in a year?: I've only been to the cinema around three times in my whole life of 17 years. The last time I visited was during 2009, and that was to see Avatar in 3D. What films do you typically tend to watch at the cinema? (Blockbuster, Art-house etc): Blockbusters. (Feel free to go off on a rant about the studio system, or the increasing trend of remakes): Nothing concerns me about the movie industry, though I've found I like movies more from the 90's-earlier. Music in Film What is your favourite piece of music ever used in film?: The soundtrack that plays during Luke-Vader's final duel in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. And what is your favourite music moment in a film ever?: Same as above - the soundtrack kicks in when they actually duel. Home Cinema What do you watch films on? (TV, PC Monitor, iPod?!): 42" LCD HDTV and 22" LCD PC Monitor Do you have a surround sound setup? If so how big is it?: There is on the 42", however I'm not sure how large it is. If I like a movie enough to watch it countless times over, I will most definately buy a Blu-Ray version.
