I also liked the ending(spoilers obviously)duke just makes fun of any game that had thier main character killed off by calling it a sh*t ending overall, this game kicks ass. there some parts that were a pain to get through but otherwise it was awesome. FPS with Puzzles? Dude the game is hardly Portal, and it's fair enough saying people worked hard on it and give thanks to them but an average game is still just an average game. The load times are BS, and middle-difficulty is too easy, but the game itself is friggin' awesome. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud so much with a game, either. G The Generous Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 only thing a bit disappoint in this game is Duke.he doesn't gave much "emoticon" in this game.like when he talking to some NPC,NPC spell a lot of words and Duke just keep silent,in some dialogue he just respond a bit and some humours in this game isn't so funny much.remember back in the day all humours from Duke game are funny as well.in DNF there aren't too many of them. wonder if anyone have play DN Manhattan project.it's an arcade game just like DN 1,2.but in fully 3D enviroment and level design is great,many good humours as well. Which is what you'll experience mostly in Duke Nukem's multiplayer. Rockets and jetpacks. Here's a fairly accurate review of the multiplayer: That being said, unlocking items is pretty fun in multiplayer... it gives you an incentive to keep playing. Don't get me wrong I wasn't that naive to expect a masterpiece. After 15 years of canceling, reboots and pompous interviews something was going to get wrong. I still can't put my finger on it because I'm not playing enough (damn family) but it doesn't feel the way the old game felt. It's hard to tell really... but anyway, this is just fun as hell and I enjoyed every minute of it. I thought than DNF will be sucky because of it being too modern (compared to DN3D, which was one of my very first PC games, and to this day it stands as one of my all-time favourities)... but shockingly, every modern aspect of this game WORKS. Even two weapon limit, to my disbelief, does really good job and it sorta forces you to plan ahead what weapons to carry. Of course graphics are kinda sucky, AI sometimes just fails... and there are many other things that are wrong... but overall, I'd say that it's just a well-designed game. If we take multiplayer out of the equation, Duke is much better than a lot of popular releases. It may not look as good as Crysis 2 but sh*t, I had a lot more fun with it. Also CoD has one of the most dreary, boring and repetitive singleplayers I know of and the scores it gets from reviewers all originate from the MP; something which DNF didn't do too well. And it really is a lot more fun. Shooting is more fun than in other modern shooters, it has actual diversity in gameplay instead of same old sh*t all the time, it's not brown or gray and it has actual humor (something moderns shooters aren't familiar with). I swear, the only recent shooters I had fun with were Crysis 1 and Warhead, Duke Nukem Forever and Call of Juarez 1 and 2 (and I can't wait for The Cartel). OysterBarron Posted June 22, 2011 Author Share Posted June 22, 2011 I wasnt exspecting a triple AAA title! god knows how many loose ends gearbox had to tie together in order to ship a completed product. I find it very challenging even on easy! it is a bit like the old type shooters where you just get that bit that you cant get thru and you keep dying. As for comedic value you find your own in a game like attempting to play slot machines while 4 enemys are trying to tear you a new ahole was quite pleasing! Had a burn on multiplayer it seemed allright wasnt getting dissconected like some were reporting. Allthough the weapon of choice seemed to be freeze gun and smash me to a million pieces but it just gave me more incentive to find out where that was in the level so i could do the same to them. I dont know if it was just the casino theme or the unreal engine but the graphics remind me a bit of rainbow six vegas allthough it doesnt look bad some off the effects used are looking abit dated now! By all means its no game to start shouting from the roof tops about, but all in all its a pretty tidy package and it has'nt caused me to think after playing for a while why did i bother to get this i just wasted £40! so it5s not money wasted. And it frustartes me like the old one were Ill just call it a day and comeback tommorrow. Get way more for my buck that way anyway. It's not the most polished or sophisticated thing out there, BUT I'VE GOT A GODDAMN BUST OF DUKE NUKEM SO IT'S OKAY! mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. The change log goes something like this :- Some decent changes there, I like the fact they upped the weapon count and curious as to what these texture improvements are. I might give Duke another run through this week and see what is what. No word on if or when these changes will come to the console version though.
